I came to The Recky & The meals are terrible I got the fish of the day from the specials board it didn’t state it was grilled not battered which I couldn’t eat so I paid $35 for vegetables then I got a bowl of chips for $14 which was inedible with the amount of salt the chef added, my daughter had chicken, chips and salad chips the chicken had raw batter as you can see in picture which was adult meal, my niece had the same the chicken was overcooked and was so hard it nearly broke her braces the chips had that much salt on them as well her salad had a half of a beetroot just chucked in a bowl the quality of food is so poor since our last visit and for the price you pay I definitely won’t be returning they offered a pizza to replace the raw chicken meal which came out as a kids pizza I’m not the person to complain and normally just don’t return but to spend over $200 for 6 meal at a pub is ridiculous and have been in the food industry for 20yrs and have never been so disappointed in the food and the chef comment about the food not being raw maybe need a change in chefs this establishment use to have great meals I will be going to pacific palms bowling club next time the new chef there is great.

A sign of the changing face of Australia - $40 for the fish and $9.30 for a schooner of VB. Children from vaucluse, mosman, and palm beach have a nice place to hangout, and that's cool but the Recky ain't what it used to be. I really hope the floor staff have received some kind of pay rise in line with the changing clientele and price points, but of course I doubt it. And I guess the alcohol licencing inspectors had something to say about venues having a nice view - the fence separating the outdoor area from the lake is a baffling choice otherwise. The oysters are still nice, and when on special for 2$ a pop I presume they are the loss leader. Get them while they're cold. I've been coming here for 10ish years and my family has for 30+ Sad to say that after the recent visit and seeing how things have changed we'll probably just bring some fish and chips, an Esky and sit on the nice side of the fence so we can still see the beautiful sunset over the lake. Venues are hard to run, especially boom/bust season venues like the Recky.

Great large venue by the water, with ample room well thought out in terms of design. ACCESSIBILITY: Full access for those in wheelchairs/walkers etc. There's plenty of on site and nearby street parking available. The toilets were sizable and clean. FOOD: 10/10. The snapper was fresh and cooked to perfection the kids meals are also good with a gluten free chicken nuggets and chips offering that weren't bad either. STAFF: Absolutely lovely. Very friendly, attentive and efficient. OVERALL: Highly recommend. If I lived in the area this world be a great go-to for large Birthday parties/work/family gatherings etc. With a large timber flooring section ideal for dancing and plenty of seating areas. They have plenty of outdoor chairs and tables that overlook the water too.

We went here today, and was totally disrespected by one of the bar staff. We arrived around 3.30, and found out there would be kids bingo at 4pm. I took my car back to the caravan park, and got the courtesy bus back. We had our dog there, which is 2.5kg, as there was around 10 other dogs there. Once the bingo started, which cost $50, our 5 kids and ourselves went inside, but took our tiny dog onto the veranda and lashed him up with some water, because we had seen another huge dog inside the club being patted by the staff. Several bar staff saw the dog, and didn't comment, he wasn't any trouble to any patrons. In fact, the patrons were loving him being there. Then a new person started his shift, there is a sign at the bar saying kids need to stay 2mtrs away from the bar. But this staff member, named Andrew, abused a man next to me because a child ran into the bar area and yelled out to the father of the child. Then he kicked the child out of that area, along with her father, and closed all the doors, as if he was locking himself inside a bunker. He then walked out to the veranda and found our dog, he didn't ask who's dog it was, he just detached our dog from its leash, and was about to take it out of the club and just set it free. This dog cost us $650 to buy. This man had no uniform on, so when my partner saw him, she approached him and asked why he was handling our dog. He then became verbally abusive, he stated that no dogs are allowed in the club. My partner apologised, but because he was being so rude, asked to see the signage, he admitted there was none, but stated to my partner "you should know better". Then he stood in front of a camera and performed a dance act, like he is steering a plane into its berth. After all of this, me and my partner were told to leave the premises, leaving our 5 children to play bingo in a club unsupervised. I ask, what is the bigger crime, a 2.5kg fluffy dog on a veranda, not even in the club, or 5 young children left in a club unsupervised???? This dog could easily have been there for medical reasons. But this fool didn't even consider anything past his power trip. Me, definitely my partner, and my family will never go back there. And we will make sure that everyone we know will never go to this club again, because of this...

Sorry but FOOD FAILED....It was served speedily but must have been prepared hours before ... Pork was fine... crispy was NOT crispy... just fat...veges were shrivelled... ravioli was hot in centre and cold around edge obviously cooked a long time ago... it may have been OK fresh... taste wise it was allright but oh soooo limp...very disappointing to say the very least.... we also heard other people verbally complain about the pork tooo ...so it was not just us.

CLUB itself was BORING...it had no character or charm...very plain and oh so 70s.

PEOPLE were ok... MEDIOCRE... barely cracked a smile... one or 2 jolly members brightened the dull atmosphere... hey there keep having fun... lifes too short

Unfortunately we definitely won't be eating there again and would not at this time recommend the food... We would however suggest the food be served FRESH even if people have to wait a bit longer I am sure that most people would agree that they would rather have great food than leftovers from how long ago!

Sorry people but our overall experience was poor Im sad to say. Get some contrasting bright decor with a splash of vibrant colour here and there... and most importantly have fun and smile forcthose who don't have the...
