Those curious amongst us will notice the reviews are all recent. This is because the original reviews spanning several years and the site marker "vanished" a while ago. Comments surrounding the "missing" bulk of the walk, I imagine, are responsible for the disappearance. 'Those old enough to remember the complete walk... I think the Cedar Creek Circuit physically "ceased to be" around the Campbell Newman budgeting period. A ford crossing removed plus addition of a forest of warning signs and fences, and a pretence that the area had only a 400 meter walk. We (like many) often walked the 3.5 km circuit (1.5 hour) walk with two children. Some of the prettiest boulders, rock walls and water crossings at Tamborine could be found. A picnic break mandatory (according to the kids) upon a large rock outcrop next to the cool cascades. Some years back we returned, to discover the circuit has never been, and extreme danger is posed by the killer cliffs!!! The paths past these signs and fences were intact but overgrown. (That's one less maintenance cost for the State Government). Another victim of the post-truth world we have allowed our politicians and marketeers to blinker us with. Perhaps the local member deserves badgering to represent the area, and reinstate the absent circuit path. I reviewed similarly... just prior to, the vanishing from the map, of the old site marker...
Read moreAWSOME place to take family and friends. With my 9, 8, 5 and 2yr old along with their Uncle, Father and myself with a sprained ankle (not advice to do so also) but that did not affect me at all. Park has limited parking, toilets BBQ areas, field space to have young ones run around, it has two tracks to take down to water areas. You will also have to climb over a heap of rocks, boulders to get to your desired spot so if travelling with young one's take along a pair of extra hands when going to the water area, it best not to take your whole kitchen just enough to get you by for the duration of your stay... as carrying everything my be a bit of a hassle. My family loved it especially my 2yr old who was crying to go back once he realised we got home so dont be afraid to give it a shot with your little ones. My children also found a pretty painted rock here which they have asked for when they go next time if they can leave some behind of their own for other kids to find...so be on the look out for them and add too your review...
Read moreCedar Creek Falls, Tamborine Mountain, QLD Wow great spot within the Tamborine Mountain National Park. Limited carpark, with the main falls about a 10min really nice walk through the bush following a fenced path. There are 2 falls leading to the main falls, then 3 pools where you are permitted to swim, and so we did. Really refreshing water. The pool nearest the falls is very deep with slippery rocks as you enter the water. It’s easy to swim up to the falls and just sit on the ledge. The carpark has toilet & picnic facilities.
Last time we went to Tamborine Mountain we took the Tamborine Rainforest Walk through bush with huge fallen trees leading to Curtis Falls, a must visit if you are in the area (there is lots of sightseeing within Tamborine Mountain). I have previously posted about Curtis...
