Visited Little Hyams Beach.
Nice beach with white sand. Much grainier then Hyams Beach or Callala Beach but nice nevertheless.
There is a toilet block here with one outdoor shower.
To get down to the beach there are stairs or a driveway , ramp you can walk down easy enough.
The ramp you can also get a wheelchair down.
Not sure on the best times to go for ease of parking but had no issues on Easter Monday and parked right across the road from the driveway ramp.
The ramp is lock with a double gate so no cars can get through. More for the council staff.
The beach is clean. It is small compared to the main beach but I guess hence the name.
During peak seasons like the summer holidays it is very very busy here so parking will be a challenge unless you are staying at one of many air bnbs or accommodation providers.
Good location with easy access and plenty of space to move around for most parts of the year.
Good snorkelling ariund here and when calm really nice to paddle board around.
Again it is much different during peak periods when visitors come to town to stay.
Overall good beach and has everything you need to relax and enjoy a...
Read moreHyams Beach, renowned for its dazzling white sands, recently offered a mixed experience. During my visit, the beach was not as tranquil as anticipated due to the considerable wave activity. There was a significant amount of dried seaweed scattered along the shoreline, which, while natural, did produce a noticeable seafood-like odor that might not be appealing to everyone, particularly children sensitive to such smells.
Despite these aspects, the beach had its redeeming qualities. Moving away from the seaweed-strewn areas towards cleaner waters, the environment transformed significantly. The pristine white sand and the energetic waves provided a delightful playground for the kids, who thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the natural elements. The waves, particularly, seemed magical as they added a dynamic backdrop to our beach activities.
Overall, while Hyams Beach may not have offered a completely serene beach day, it presented an opportunity for kids to enjoy and connect with nature's beauty, making it a worthwhile visit for families looking to explore the diverse aspects of a natural...
Read moreThis beach has been on my must-visit list for ages, and when I finally made it, it did not disappoint. Though mornings can get busy—so much so that by 9:30 AM, entry was restricted—I discovered the perfect workaround: patience. Returning at 2 PM felt like stepping into a completely different world—one where the crowds had eased, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the ocean stretched invitingly before me. It was the perfect setup to settle in, unwind, and let the anticipation build as the sun slowly made its descent. Watching the sky transform into a canvas of fiery hues was nothing short of mesmerizing. A truly...
