Though Lace Place occupies a smallish area, the quality, quantity and range of exhibited materials are stunning! Display arrangements include a series of beautiful wooden cabinets, each containing a set of glass-topped drawers that compactly house yet more lace and may be opened by visitors. Finding a specialist collection of this type in such a remote place comes as a delightful surprise. Unfortunately, though, many visitors (like myself on 27 Aug 24) would be in tour groups bound for Wave Rock and would therefore have little time to spend here. I had only 20 minutes and would love to have stayed for 2 or 3 hours! I particularly enjoyed the old world gallery of exquisite displays of vintage lace draws, mannequin displays, conversation 101 about lace and the story of how the museum "The Lace Place" came to be. I was in awe of the carriages of my yesteryear and detailed bridal gowns, baby christening gowns, gloves, collars, etc, etc. I could go on and on.
