We stayed here in the off peak season, early August 2022. When we arrived it was cold and wet from previous heavy rain yet we were warmly greeted by Mel, one of the staff at the WRCP. Mel was super friendly, helpful and good to have a laugh with. We are towing an expanda caravan and opted to stay on powered site No9 with an ensuite which cost $63 per night. The $63 got us a spacious toilet, hot shower , sink and stainless steel bench equipped with a dishwasher (with the dishwasher powder inc). The cleaners definitely aren’t lazy as the ensuite was one of the cleanest we’ve stayed at and NO SPIDER WEBS OR BUGS inside. The ensuite was large enough for us to store items in that we weren’t using and it’s lockable. It also has a carport so you can park a car under there or use as a seating area. Still included in this $63 was a pass to wave rock ($12) , as well as a key to the boom gate of private property to view the lake, airport and resort. Also a voucher for discount to the liberty fuel station.
We were here for 2 days and didn’t use any other facilities but from what we saw, Wave Rock Caravan Park has everything you could need from travelling as a single person to a family with pets. .
NOTE: Even though it is cold, very occasionally snakes are still around and in summer there is many, so keeping your pet on a leash is not only the requirement but also a means to keeping them safe. Check playground equipment before the kids play there. Also during the cold off season there was no flies , no tourists which meant we got some great pics of the rock with no extras...
Read moreWave Rock has always been on our bucket list. We rang to enquire and where pleased to find the park was only a short walk to wave rock. We where then informed that there are other attractions, yesteryear museum, the lace place, toy soldier museum ect ect. So with so much to do we booked 2 nights at almost $90.00 We arrived, the staff where well organised but very abrupt. We where told that they had given up 2 sights, that’s great we thought, when we reached out allotted sights, we where shocked, just as well we had two, if we didn’t we would not have been able to open our van door and definitely no awning. Would hate to be there when we only got one site. They had other people jammed in to these tiny sights, meanwhile the park was almost empty 🤷♀️ Day two we went to see all the other attractions that we had been told about, they where all closed, we went to the office to ask what else there was to do in town as we had booked 2 nights, meanwhile there where another couple who had booked and turned up at 10am and the lady at the counter very rudely told them to come back at 12pm that they couldn’t have there site until then. The park is almost empty, nothing else was open , what the hell where they supposed to do for 2 hrs?? Really, it’s not hard to be nice and also make exceptions when times are quiet, as for the pool , it doesn’t look like it’s been operating for years. Wouldn’t stay there again in a million years, especially when you can stay at the bush camp up the read for $20 and walk down to...
Read moreFantastic Christmas holidays spent with family. Stunning natural beauty and gigantic rock formations. Multiple wave rock formations across the entire landscape. Couple of drives but worth visiting such as wave rock, hippo’s yawn, Hyden rock trails, wave rock walk circuit, the humps and Mulka’s cave, lake king, Graham rock, few museums and nature bush walk in wildlife park. All these doable activities with your family and kids. Absolutely loved it and sure will visit next time and will complete all the trails walks. Worth visit are the Gnamma trail and Kalari Trails after visiting Mulka’s cave which got a amazing views and feels like top of the world and enjoy the moment. Please avoids steep descent and stick to the trails mark. Best times would be morning hours as weather is cooler. Camp kitchen is bit smaller but has got everything to prep your meal. Big dinning area and TV, 2 buildings each for shower and washroom with hot water connections but be mindful to sparingly use water as it’s scarce down there. Definitely take your own camper as the camping ground is dry and dusty. The tent floor are nicely maintained with artificial turfed so was clean and comfortable to sleep. Swimming pool under renovation so would be great to visit next time and few children playground and cricket pitch for fun time. The wave rock is actually short walk from the campground so it’s really nice for quick hike or walk around the wave rock in golden hours to get stunning views and...
