Owners were rude to me and the group of people I was with. We booked for a few people and wanted to make sure that was okay so I called and the lady was rude saying we won’t get one booking with that many people and that was fine we were happy to book multiple but then also tried to tell us there were no sites left only unpowered witch is what we wanted. Instead of just taking our booking over the phone we were made to do it online. Okay fine we did that and booked everyone in including the dog. When we got there we had booked in and registered everything correctly to then get to our site for the owner to run down to us and tell us we haven’t booked this many people and that we were tres passing. He checked us in yet insisted we weren’t for the amount of people we had. I had to clarify all the booking names for him to say I’ll go check it out. He did not come back and apologise for how he spoke to us and accused us of doing the wrong thing. To then that night we were well aware that the curfew for noise is 10pm and at 8:50 we were told by the security guard that we were being too loud and need to go to bed. We were only laughing and were very conscious of our noise as we had a child with us. To then once we were all in bed the security guard walked through our site. Like how unsafe especially with a child there. The next day one of us did do the wrong thing and got removed we know he did and he did the right thing by leaving. Once he was gone the owner came up to us again threatening to kick us all out if he was still there which he wasn’t and then threatened to have to cops come to us.

This was a horrible experience from the beginning the owners did not want us there from the very beginning and made us feel soo uncomfortable and unwelcomed. So much for being a family park will never bring my child back...

We spent two nights recently. We were on site #2 which is large and well situated. We had shade from the sun which would be perfect for summer.

We choose to park further away from the power shared by several sites but we were offered an extension lead if required. We didn't need this but the offer was great.

The site was a little muddy in places and again we were offered tarps to our down if we required them. I'm sure I'm summer the site would be perfectly dry.

There are kayaks, fire pits, fishing gear for hire and you can buy wood at $20 for 20kg.

The main township is a two minute (at most) walk away which had a lovely local market on the Sunday.

The park is dog friendly and provides several off leash areas for the pooches as well.

The river runs along the edge of the park and would be a great place to swim in the hot summer weather.

The camp kitchen is basic but functional with two fridges, a microwave and several BBQs and finished with huge TV.

The bathrooms were clean and tidy. There were two options with one being newer than the other. The only difference between the two for me personally was that the newer showers had way more space to hang clothes etc.

I would recommend this park to everyone. It would suit most travellers and if you look at the sites online before you go you may be able to book your preferred spot if either powered or unpowered and riverside...

We haven't been here since the new owners have taken over. What a difference. It's so tidy and the amenities and other refurbishments look great.

A few things that would have made our stay perfect... and these are only suggestions!

With the abundance of wildlife and the sounds that come with it, having someone turn up next to you and play music can really spoil the serenity of the place. Having been to grounds that have a no music rule it really does make a huge difference to how you can actually enjoy the surrounds and not be consumed by someone else's music.

The powered sites are terrific, but adults and kids alike show no respect for the space of other campers. We had traffic through the middle of our camp all weekend. It was particularly frustrating with the current covid rules in place that people still did not respect each other's space. All it would take is one infected person walking through and touching or sneezing on something of ours and we are at risk. I guess the only solution I can suggest is to place some ropes along the back of each tier of the powered sites, with a designated walkway running straight down the middle of each row of powered sites. This would allow people to have direct access to the amenities from the bottom tiers, without walking through booked sites.

We do look forward to coming back and thank you so much for your...

If you love camping in Queensland, this spot is one that truly stands out. The grounds are well-kept and thoughtfully set up, with clean toilets and kitchens that make the stay comfortable from start to finish. Even the small details are taken care of, like rubbish bins placed throughout the site, which really helps keep the area tidy and enjoyable for everyone. One of the highlights is the river that runs alongside the campsite – perfect for a refreshing swim on a warm day. It’s a beautiful natural feature that adds so much to the experience, though it’s worth noting to be cautious around the cliffs and avoid jumping in from high spots. Safety first makes the fun last longer. For those looking for a bit of adventure, you’re not short on options. There are bicycles available to rent if you want to explore on land, and canoes if you’d rather paddle along the water and take in the scenery at a slower pace. It’s a great balance between relaxation and activity, making it ideal whether you’re here with family, friends, or even solo. This campsite captures the best of Queensland’s outdoor charm – clean facilities, stunning natural surroundings, and plenty to do. It’s one of those places you’ll want to return to again and again.

My husband and I camped at Imbil camping retreat over the Christmas holidays and it was fantastic ! Absolutely loved it ! The Managers John & Wendy made us feel welcome and had thought of everything from arranging a coffee cart to sell coffees to food vendors to sell pizzas, burgers, seafood, fish & chips and more. Even had activities for the kids - Treasure hunt, face painting, fishing (which was very popular) with the kids wanting to fish and learn about fishing and information on fishing 🎣 down by the creek. (Which I now know what a Lung fish is and how rare it is) But, my favourite activity was the Yabby 🦞 races on New Year’s Eve. That was so much fun and enjoyed by everyone followed by a night of dancing 💃 and singing with live music from Adam and a Flintstone’s fancy dress up party to see the New Year in. The grass and grounds were constantly maintained and the amenities were cleaned regularly. So overall was a very enjoyable holiday. A big Thank you to John and Wendy and Adam. We cannot wait until Christmas this year. We will definitely be back. 😊 Lisa
