Located at Parklands Road, Mount Penang Parklands, Kariong, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 These are such beautiful Gardens. My absolute favourite part was the Bottle Trees. They were fantastic and if you get a chance, absolutely go and hug them. The sculptures were wonderful also. So much patience and skill went into the carving of the sculptures. The waterways throughout the garden is so beautiful and the paths are very easy to follow and very accessible for people with mobility issues. Plenty of photo opportunities so be sure to bring your camera 📷. There’s toilet 🚻 facilities located next to the Waterfall Cafe at the entrance of the gardens. It took us about an hour to make our way around the garden but I think if you properly take everything in, you could double that time. Be sure to include the alcoves and side paths to ensure you get the full experience. There’s also plenty of signage located throughout the gardens giving you a lot of information about the different sections. The flora is so beautiful and it was lovely to just wander. I would definitely recommending a visit....
Read moreGreat little garden. We've stopped a few times now for lunch/break on the way north/south during holiday trips. Brilliant cafe nearby for coffee or lunch. Space over the road to setup lunch or for kids to run around and burn off their energy.
Partner loves taking photos of the flowers and wildlife. I'll snap a few shots but mostly enjoy just the quietness and the wildlife
Worth walking around all the sections - lots of little alcoves around the paths harbor themed gardens that you'll miss from even 5m away.
Great variety of birds and insects, too. Very peaceful place to visit. If you're not stopping to photo everything, takes 20-40 minutes to amble around leisurely and view everything. Depending on the state of flowers in bloom (and if the camera is out) takes us 2-3 hours.
Judging from the chalk notes we've seen on the path regularly it looks like there might be a park run/fitness group that do...
Read moreWe visited Mount Penang gardens today. This is the second attempt. First attempt was a few months ago : it was closed temporarily in preparation for rock concert . We went back.
This time it was open . Overall, it looked like an ongoing ‘ work in progress’ . Surprising , as I understand that it was established decades ago ! But that is what it is.
The second and most important point is the location of the garden . It is so noisy ! The freeway noice shatters any semblance of peace and quiet !
Not sure what they were thinking when they made the decision to spend tax payers money in such a terrible location !
We checked out the cafe . It was fine , but that was not the reason why we went there. We were there to spend some quiet time in a...
