A Wild and Wonderful Camping Trip at Merry Beach!
We had an unforgettable camping trip at Merry Beach to celebrate my birthday with four friends — they came from Canberra and I from Sydney. We arrived late in the evening and quickly set up camp. As soon as we started barbecuing, the weather took a wild turn — heavy rain, strong winds, and thunder. But we made the most of it, took shelter, and still managed to cook dinner. It was chaotic but oddly fun!
Thankfully, the next day brought clear skies and perfect weather. We walked along the beautiful shoreline, played football on the sand, and grabbed coffee at a nearby café. The local kangaroos added to the experience — a few even tried to snatch our food! In the evening, we sang songs and did a bit of busking by the beach. The views were stunning, and the atmosphere was peaceful yet full of life.

Read moreWe just got back from camping at Merry Beach, and overall, it was a great experience! The location is perfect, and the campsites are nicely spread out, so you don’t feel crammed in. We loved being able to walk to the beach from our spot—it was super convenient.
The atmosphere was quiet and friendly, which made for a relaxing getaway. However, I have to mention that the road inside the camping area is pretty rough and could definitely use some improvements, along with better signage to help navigate.
One big letdown was that we were told there would be a fresh seafood truck making rounds, and I was really looking forward to it all day. Unfortunately, it never showed up, which was a bit disappointing. 😟
Despite that, we had a fantastic time camping and would definitely recommend Merry Beach for a chill...
