A Wild and Wonderful Camping Trip at Merry Beach! We had an unforgettable camping trip at Merry Beach to celebrate my birthday with four friends — they came from Canberra and I from Sydney. We arrived late in the evening and quickly set up camp. As soon as we started barbecuing, the weather took a wild turn — heavy rain, strong winds, and thunder. But we made the most of it, took shelter, and still managed to cook dinner. It was chaotic but oddly fun! Thankfully, the next day brought clear skies and perfect weather. We walked along the beautiful shoreline, played football on the sand, and grabbed coffee at a nearby café. The local kangaroos added to the experience — a few even tried to snatch our food! In the evening, we sang songs and did a bit of busking by the beach. The views were stunning, and the atmosphere was peaceful yet full of life. All in all, it was a wonderful and memorable experience — highly recommend for nature lovers and anyone looking for a unique beachside adventure!

We just got back from camping at Merry Beach, and overall, it was a great experience! The location is perfect, and the campsites are nicely spread out, so you don’t feel crammed in. We loved being able to walk to the beach from our spot—it was super convenient. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly, which made for a relaxing getaway. However, I have to mention that the road inside the camping area is pretty rough and could definitely use some improvements, along with better signage to help navigate. One big letdown was that we were told there would be a fresh seafood truck making rounds, and I was really looking forward to it all day. Unfortunately, it never showed up, which was a bit disappointing. 😟 Despite that, we had a fantastic time camping and would definitely recommend Merry Beach for a chill outdoor escape!

Merry Beach is as charming as its name suggests. Bordered by a caravan and camping park, and excellent coastal walks, Merry Beach is a popular spot for families, fishermen and walkers and has lots of resident kangaroos & Views of the prominent O’Hara Headland on the northern end of the beach invite you to explore the rocky platforms and look for dolphins and birdlife & from Merry Beach, you can take the Snapper Point Walking track around Snapper Point to Pretty Beach, and from there you can keep going to Pebbly Beach and into Murramarang National Park. Be sure to check the National Park Website for up to date track information and status.
