BestBarron Falls is a magnificent waterfall located in the Barron Gorge National Park, near Cairns in Queensland, Australia. Breathtaking Natural Wonder! Visiting Barron Falls was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all my expectations! Nestled in the lush rainforest near Cairns, the falls are truly a spectacle of nature. During the wet season, the water roars powerfully down the gorge, creating a mesmerizing mist that dances in the sunlight. The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway offered a fantastic view of the falls, allowing us to appreciate the immense scale and beauty from a unique perspective. The well-maintained walking trails and lookout points are perfect for capturing stunning photographs and soaking in the serene environment. Barron Falls is not just a sight to see; it's an encounter with the raw power and beauty of nature. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone looking for a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Don’t miss it if you’re in the Cairns area!

Two mid sized disabled parking bays at the top of a walkway. The first lookout is about 100m from the car park along a raised walkway under the forest's canopy which is wheelchair accessible and has solid handrails the whole way down on both sides. The accessible section continues down along more narrow trail higher in the canopy with larger places to stop or turn around along the way. This ends with the earlier bitumen path sections with some stairs, tight turns on steep sections which continues to the train platform and second lookout which look onto the falls from lower down the valley. The first photo shows the falls from the first lookout, looking over the train platform below. The second lookout is out of frame to the right and offers a better view of the falls. There are no-flush toilets uphill along the path at the entrance of the carpark. No potable water.

The Barron Falls lookout is the best place to see the falls (I believe it is a much better whole view than the expensive Sky rail). The lookout walk is a "canopy trail" that zig zags through old trees with lots to see and observe for kids and adults. The trial ends at the railway station, with a few different viewpoints of the falls. The falls were not in full flow when we visited, but the area is beautiful nonetheless. This giant gash in the ground with an underground power station. Take time to go on other trials in the area. At the parking lot, they have a bathroom - convenient.

A must to do in Cairns!!! Barron Falls (Aboriginal: Din Din) is a steep tiered 125 m cascade waterfall on the Barron River located 25 Km NW of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It may be viewed and reached by road via the Kennedy Highway that crosses the Barron River upstream of the falls, near Kuranda. It could also be reached via Kuranda Scenic Railway and the Skyrail. The falls were named for Thomas Henry Bowman Barron, the Chief Clerk of Police in Brisbane in the 1860s. Highly recommended.
