Nice beach with lifeguards. Car park, toilets, showers and change rooms available. Highest protection index sun screen recommended. We spent a day late January, put on sun screen, did a quick-not-thorough-enough job, and got sunburned where the protective layer was not rubbed in. Update January 2019 Came back on a Tuesday and lifeguards were not on duty. But still a great beach to spend the day. Best to bring a tent that can sustain 20-30km/h winds for additional shade. Update March 2021 Lifeguards were on duty on a Sunday until about 2pm. Waves were bigger this time.

Malua Bay Beach earns 5 stars for its pristine beauty and family-friendly atmosphere. Located on the South Coast of New South Wales, this beach features soft golden sand, clear blue waters, and gentle waves perfect for swimming and relaxing. The surrounding area is well-maintained, with picnic spots, BBQ facilities, and nearby amenities. It's an ideal destination for families, surfers, and anyone looking to enjoy a day by the sea in a picturesque and tranquil setting.

What a beautiful part of the world! Canberra 9 degrees ("feels like -4). People swimming in Malua Bay.. 24/7/19 just back from 11 glorious days at Malua Bay. Virtually zero clouds, sunny all day. Plenty of walks and coffee on the main beach. Lovely bush walks around the dramatic rocky headlands. Recharged the batteries! Very good accommodation too! Picture was taken July 1st 2019. Pretty much middle of winter. Yeah, right!

NOT PET FRIENDLY during summer. The beach is decent like all the other reviews say but I just want to put it out there for anyone that books one of the pet-friendly rooms at the hotel directly behind this beach. Dogs are prohibited during summer (Nov-Apr) Dogs aren't allowed on the beach 9am-5pm, nor the grass reserve area behind. And even outside of those hours your dog needs to be on a leash at all times or it's a $300 fine. During my stay there were about 2 people on the beach at any time and every 5 min the life guards would have to come flying over and warn someone their dog isn't allowed on the beach,...

One of the many really great beaches in the area. Clean sandy beach.

Patrolled by Surf Lifesavers (weekends and holidays). Playground, bbq, public toilet/change facilities on the (large-ish) grass area immediately adjacent. A range of useful facilities on the nearby shops (including: takeaway, IGA/supermarket, newsagent, restaurant, bottle shop) all within 100m. Dogs allowed (outside of 9am-5pm Nov - Apr, any time May-Oct). reasonably good parking close by

Highly recommended if you're looking for a great beach to...
