We had the absolute pleasure of doing the Andre Experience Tour at Dominique Portet in the Yarra Valley, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The one‑on‑one time with Jason made the day so special – his knowledge, passion, and genuine warmth brought the whole experience to life. Every moment felt personal and unhurried, allowing us to truly soak in the history, the winemaking process, and of course, the incredible wines.

The food was simply outstanding – perfectly matched to the wines and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight and elevated the tasting to a whole new level.

The restaurant service was equally exceptional – attentive, warm, and seamless, making us feel truly looked after from start to finish.

The reputation of this winery is undeserved. We tried 7 wines, and 2 of these were premium wines from their museum collection. The 5 standard were OK but not our style, but the premium wines were extremely disappointing. They have on offer a museum cabernet which was mildly improved from the current vintage and an André 2015 (cabernet again) retailing for $250 a bottle. This is grossly overpriced and should not even be up for sale as the wine has only acidity and no flavour. I have tasted wines over 30 years old, and this wine is well past its best before. It is shameful of a winery to try and flog off their old wines when they are not up to par. The service while polite was a little lacklustre. Loved it! first time back in years. New menu was fantastic. Loved the duck parfait, saucisson (salami), and trout rillette- they all delivered. normally i think the starters are always the highlights but we shared the mains and they all delivered. The sauce with the baby snapper was incredible and the Entrecote (steak frites) is rightly the hero dish, was so so good. We shared Parisian gnocchi as a side, highly recommend. Great space, staff were relaxed and engaging and did a wine tasting to choose lunch wine highlights were brut rose, chardy, sauv blanc (sancerre style), both table wine roses', cab franc (fresh med weight) and cab malbec was a great recommendation.
