The original playground was destroyed by fire in 2017 and with that, many hearts were broken with grief. This was the place for birthday parties, for after school gatherings, for picnics and waking the dog. The new playground is fairly similar in design and the space from the previous playground but without the treated pine and somewhat dated wood. It opened in December 2018 with great delight to those who knew and loved the old one. Plenty of undercover space for kids to play even in inclement weather plus there are an abundance of picnic tables and bbq’s for people to use. So what’s on offer for the kids to play on. Well apart from the main structure, within that are incorporated a double flying fox which also has a seat for the disabled. Here are cute little sheds for kids to play post office and general store that are like cubbies, sand pots, swings, number of slides, climbing wall, water trough for sand play, spinners, commando climbing rope/wall plus a swing dedicated for dis sled people. Being close to Edendale Farm, you can get real bang for your buck by visiting both in one day. Also nearby are walking paths, bike paths and of course the massive grassy green oval that dog lovers enjoy to exercise their canines. There is plenty of parking, abundance of toilets and water fountains. This is a must visit playground any time of the week but on weekends it’s extra busy as it’s popular with young kids birthday...
Read moreWho doesn't love a new playground. It's new, it has public toilet, bbq and ample of free car park. The playground is far from the busy main street. Although it is not fenced, you don't need to worry your kids would run wild in the middle of the street (but still pay attention to cars that coming for the playground tho)
I would say this place is more suitable for kids 3+ as this place is tall so it means the kids needs to climbs up high to reach to the slides. Theres one slide that is standing right to the edge of the building. You would need to follow your little one around if you're not sure they aren't able to stand still yet, let alone climbing up or down.
On the plus side the playground is completed with slides, sandpit, flying fox (there are two flying fox; one for toddler, one for older kids), swings and little town for pretend play.
Minimal shading area in the middle of the playground beside the building itself so make sure to bring hats and plenty of sunscreen if you're here on hot...
