Where is this? 📍Frankston Nature Conservation Reserve, Frankston, Victoria, Australia Looking for a hidden nature escape? Look no further… This beautiful reserve was locked away for over 95 years and has only recently opened to the public 😮 With an endless list of recreational activities including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, walking, jogging, cycling and of course photography! 🛶 The dock is 400m from the visitor carpark. Depending on the type of vessel you may require a small trolley for transport. The access trail is wide, flat and surfaced with gravel. 🌿 The trails through the reserve showcase a range of vegetation that provide opportunities to see a variety of plants and animals including echidnas and blue tongue lizards! ⚠️ Dogs, swimming and fishing are not allowed within the reserve. We acknowledge the Bunurong people who are the Traditional Owners of the land. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. CARPARK ENTRY via LAWSON AVENUE - WATER WAY - JEREMY WAY. Maps took us a different route which ended up in a dead end residential street. Only one carpark entrance into the place but many pedestrian access points. Gates open 6am - 6pm noted on signage at carpark entry on 20/11/2024. Nice location for a park run!! With many walking/running tracks and also bike tracks too. Different circuits available throughout the place. No toilets at carpark. Huge water area to canoe or standup paddle board. No pets allowed. A beautiful place to explore the nature and see all the beautiful species of wildlife!

This is a very beautiful place. Highly recommend the visit. Nice walking tracks and HUGE lake that you can canoe and stand up paddle board on. The water is clean and very clear. Lots of wildlife. Very tranquil and beautiful peaceful walk. The directions to get in the place are terrible on any map system. From mooroolduc highway (city bound) left or Lawson street. Left on water way. Right on Jeremy way and you’ll hit the car park. Enjoy

Great to finally see this public land open to the general public. The fact it is open and the works undertaken to date are a testament to the people responsible. The park is yet to have its potential fully realized and there is decades of work ahead to restore the land. There's a nice pocket of heath-land in reasonable condition in the NW corner. Much of the park however is choked with invasive weed species like Sallow Wattle. Despite this the bird-life is great and most days I go my ears are ringing with frog calls. I enjoy the many walking trails but the, in some areas, steep and slippery terrain will limit access for some. At this stage facilities are limited to the entrance car park, bicycle rack and signage. I'm sure I'll be able to add more stars as the park matures and its facilities expand. Definitely worth a visit and a very pleasant place to spend an...
