Thomas the tank day with Percy and Diesel. Wow, what an absolutely amazing experience, our family had quite a great day especially my little son whom is so infatuated with Thomas the tank engine, he was absolutely blown away the whole time start to finish. We have done puffing Billy multiple times with family coming from overseas but this takes the cake and eat it too.

Plenty of food and beverages so much variety to choose from, toilets for all. Everything is well written and all access is possible Even for prams and wheelchair access. They have thought of everything. The staff are awesome very adorable always willing to help you even take photos or video for you, so lovely and very polite, what was also great to see was the staff actually dressing up in their outfits to coincide with the whole Thomas the tank and friends.

All in all a very great day even had ample parking for all day for only $5 i think it was the local scouts group running that, but hey if you can help the local community why not right!

If you have no had this experience as yet put it on your bucket list, as your kids will absolutely love it so will you if you're a big kid like me at time's.

Keep up the great work...

This very unique experience, I found it as its a time travel in some point. Really they are steam engines, remember to sit down in front carriages and listen to the engine sound, how its working hard in climbing, specially after Lakeside to Gembrook. My best suggestion is get down at Lakeside and see model train track just back of station, then catch the next one to Gembrook about an hour later. Feel the environment, breath natural tree breeze, look around the local people, be nice to them and cheer them. You may bring some snacks and a drink bottle. Remember to take some pictures, may be available to have some woth driver and steam engine, Enjoy, and learn, really a very good choose and book your self on the line, park your car in Belgrave station if you getting on Puffing...

Unfortunately i can not give a great review. We took our kids for my sons 3rd birthday to Thomas. He stood in awe the whole trip unmoving. On the trip back the door opened taking my son with it. If it wasnt for the quick reaction of a passenger with his son asleep on his shoulder and my husband we may have lost him. Seems the volunteer failed to lock the door properly. The manager was great responding to my email immediately. They did offer my money back which we said we did not need but we requested if anything send my son a photo of the fat controller and thomas signed and do training with volunteers.

We to this date have received NOTHING. NO PHOTO. THEY COULDNT EVEN DO THAT WHEN THEY COULD HAVE...

This would be a fantastic day out. Travel from Belgrave to Gembrook. (or shorter trips) you need to book well in advance. upto a month sometimes on weekends. Read all the information carefully, as they run different trains to different stations and they stop at different stations to let you look around. At Gembrook today I believe there was a 90min stop over so you walk 200-500 m to get a feed and drink at the pubs, ice cream from cafe or supermarket, There is also a BBQ chicken shop for lunch. Parking at Belgrave should be planned ahead. Maybe the Metro Belgrave station. There seems to be no parking At the Puffin Billy station unless you have a disability pass.

American Reviewer: Definitely a must do if you're in the area, and have some time available. For $59 AUD apiece, we rode roundtrip from the Emerald Stop to Gembrook. Sometimes they have Thomas the Tank Engine, which sells out quickly. The friendly (volunteer) conductor on our train car told us about the history, interesting stops and sites, etc. The town's people will wave from their homes/cars, too. Beautiful scenery as well! There was a gift shop in Gembrook, and one stop along the way with bathrooms and snacks. We had about an hour to walk Gembrook. Depending on where you get on, plan on 3-5 hours.
