A rewarding nature reserve with much to see for the patient and observant. The park is a bit of a final stand for many species of flora & fauna now rare on the Mornington Peninsula. A number of different vegetation communities are found in the park. Mainly Heathland and Stringybark woodland. Some areas are badly affected by Cinnamon Fungus die-back and/or invasive species like Sydney Sallow Wattle and Sweet Pittosporum. Risk Management burns over the last decade have also really crippled some areas ecologically. Excellent well marked trails, a couple of the more vulnerable or significant tracks are "No Bikes Allowed". Horse riding is permitted around most of the outer boundary except the western side. Snakes are present and most active in Summer, mainly Tiger Snakes and Copperheads. No cats or dogs are allowed in reserve including in...
Read moreLike a walk, jog, bike-ride in the nature? Drop by and check it out. Appart from a good veriety of birds flitting about among a very mixed plant life. In this park there are also Wallabies, echidnas and of course Rabbitses😉 See what else you discover. Great for the young adventurers to learn how to navigate their way out without GPS😉

It would be really helpful if the signage at the end of each track included an arrow to return to the centre track - and then one pointing to the car park when you get the centre track so you know which way to go. Can be quite exhausting when you've wandered around & lost your bearings. As a person with mobility issues, it would have been great to have an indication if a track is a bit tricky before we got 3/4 of the way down it and had to turn back. Other than that it was a lovely walk. We saw a lizard, lots of tiny sweet birds, and an echidna. I don't know if it's feasible, but a water fountain would have been much...
