McAlpin Reserve — Attraction in Melbourne

It's a beautiful park. The play facilities are great, BBQ families scattered with cleverly thought out clever sculptures.

A concern I do have is also a convenience. The great interconnectivity with footpaths to local residential areas also means young children can easily end up unsupervised down random footpaths down a variety of residential streets in multiple directions, making supervision paramount but impossible if coming with multiple children. Best park in the East for sure. So peaceful, yet has great ambience with families around. Feels safe, clean and very well maintained.

Went on a public holiday for a picnic date and it was so good. Trees for shade, good grass and a lovely scene to look at.

New playground is complete. It is very nice and new. Sadly some of the shade that was there before the upgrade is gone with the removal of a couple of mature pine trees. The park is immensely popular and at peak times you are best advised to bring your own table and chairs if you want to have a picnic in the shade.
