Tokyo Sake — Restaurant in Melbourne

We visited the restaurant for an early Mothers day dinner. We ordered a tempura Udon requesting specifically to keep the broth to an absolute minimum as we had our 6 yr old woth us who would not eat soggy tempura or hot noodles. This was not a problem according to the waitress. I ordered a veg tofu bento and my husband a spicy pork tempanyaki. The Udon arrived with broth to the brim boiling hot and soggy tempura. My meal was chargrilled to the point I could tastes burnt pieces between my teeth, it was actually disgusting. My husband, who usually eats everything, said his tasted terrible. I spoke with the waitress regarding the Udon and she sorted it straight away but the food was soggy and sticky/cold by the time it got to us. I sent mine back and husband was starving so he scoffed his anyway The worst part was that this all cost $120!! There was no apology for getting the order wrong, no acknowledgement that I'd sent an almost full bento box back because it tasted disgusting. We will never eat there again Never recommend it to anyone, def the worst experience and the least genuine...

Pretty disappointed for the poor service last night. The servers were impatient with us and could not offer one small smile. They didn't offer any tea/coffee/desert, and couldn't clear our table away. We were offered a bottle of water! Food was strangely over salted? we have been there so many times, but last night was just the worst service and food was poor quality we have to say something! I couldn't believe the servers had that awful, impatient look when we were still discussing in our group. Would we recommend? not likely Would...

Went to our local jap tonight, having been popping in here 3 or 4 times a year since opening. Have brought many friends over the years. Tonight, we were charged approximately $40 more than usual, they charged us for extra pickled ginger!!! We will NOT be popping in again. We could have gone to an inner city restaurant for that money. Also we asked if the mains we ordered were similar, and was told they were different, they came out same veggies, same ssuce, both on sizzle plates, one with chilli. Very disappointing...
