The Melton Botanic Garden is an absolute hidden gem. It’s a beautiful, peaceful space filled with an incredible diversity of plants, thoughtfully curated and lovingly maintained. It's clear how much passion and care goes into every corner of the garden. The nursery is equally impressive – a wonderful resource for anyone interested in native plants. The selection is fantastic, and the quality of the plants is top-notch. A heartfelt thank you to Nursery Manager Anne, whose generosity, knowledge, and warm welcome made my visit especially memorable. She took the time to share valuable insights and made the whole experience even more enriching. Her dedication truly shines through and is an asset to the garden and the wider community. Highly recommend a visit – whether you're a plant lover, gardener, or just someone looking for a peaceful stroll, the Melton Botanic Garden is a place that will both...

Absolutely beautiful. Every flower bed has a description of the plants and where they originate, park benches and tables for picnics. There is a public toilets with beautiful indigenous murals. There is a lot lighting at night that get brighter as you walk under them. Drinking fountains for yourself and pets and also a fountain to refill water bottles. They have bug hotels in areas around the lake and stunning native birds. The lake is the highlight. Beautiful place for families and children, pets too. With obvious more of the garden to be finished it will be an amazing...

It is a good place, but when we went, there were no flowers or plants etc. Maybe it depends on the season. There is a bird sanctuary in the middle, but the lake and stuff were very dirty. There were different habitats on different sides and some Indigenous Artworks/ paintings. The playground was good, new, and it had stuff for younger kids. The walk itself was nice, and we saw some black swans and other species of birds.

Do recommend visiting, but maybe in spring or summer when the flowers and plants are blossoming.

The entry is free, and the botanical garden...

Really beautiful gardens; still young and under development. There is an emphasis on Australian natives and a Eucalyptus arboretum. Some ancient river gums lined a small swampy creek. There were many native birds cavorting in the flowering gums. The native plants are arranged according to locality. Arid loving species from overseas were also a very smart addition for this area. The proteas and leucodendrons looked terrific on the rather chilly winters day I visited. And there is a lake to walk around. This is a place I will certainly visit again. :)

What a wonderful place! I can't believe I haven't visited before in all the years I've lived in Melton, how lucky we got to see the swans babies 🦆🦆🦆 So precious! The park and gardens are so well maintained, there's people enjoying the walking paths which are well kept, and there's volunteers visibly on-site and they're VERY friendly and helpful. It's a a beautiful environment, the sounds of nature and wildlife in their habitat. The playground and seating areas are also well kept and fit in well with the botanical gardens. Keep up the awesome work 👍🏼
