It was rather difficult to find the entrance to the carpark coming from Mt Dandenong Road. It enters via a narrow road next to petrol/service station. There is a lack of simple and more informative direction signs, and I took some trial and error to find my friends who had already arrived and were waiting at the pavilion. It requires a few minutes to walk from the carpark to the pavilion which is in the middle of an a lake, connected by a bridge. It can be quite a distance to carry food stuff to the open picnic area or the pavilion. Once in the park proper, it is hard to believe the busy Maroondah Highway, the Ringwood train and bus station are just close by or just about 10-minute walk. It is a great park covering 8.5 hectares with the playground, shelters, seats, public toilets, barbecues, bushland and approximately 1.1km long walking and cycling trails. The many ducks inhibit the lake are protected. Visitors are not to feed the duck with bread as it is unsuitable food for them, and waste bread causes bacterial growth in the lake, which can be deadly to the ducks. While we were there, a magpie came to "share" our food. Now that many of my friends and I are not in active employment, we can enjoy the tranquil setting of the park on weekdays. From playgrounds and sports facilities to walking and cycling trails, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Furthermore, the park is well-maintained and clean, making it a pleasant environment for visitors. The amenities, such as picnic areas and public restrooms, are conveniently located and easily accessible. Pretty good park for kids , too our 3yr olds here as we stay to our local park 10 away, I think better than Croydon park as it's got harder activities and bigger slider to use to match their age better. The BBQs were actually pretty clean and park, and it's good if they bring their bikes as you can ride around the lake too , the BBQs are under cover completely not like boronia, the toilets are not great but minimal damage , some lights didn't work or doors don't lock, and covers to toilet paper are missing. If you come in the morning you will have to.bring a towel to wipe off the metal slides because of the water at the bottom. And the playground is big enough that as an adult you can play with your kids and go down the slides too. Having lights on the play equipment to play as it's getting dark would be good tho.
