The Budgie Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

I've visited this place three times, and each experience has been worse than the last. On my first visit, despite booking a table, we were squeezed into a tiny space meant for 15 people with only 6 seats. I overlooked it then, just happy to be there.

The second visit was my birthday, and it was a disaster. We paid $65 for a bottomless package that included a meal. Unfortunately, the meal was sent to the wrong table, and the staff refused to rectify the mistake. I spent a long time arguing with rude staff, and my sister ended up paying for food that should have been complimentary. After a two-hour wait, the only kind staff member finally managed to sort things out, but then we were asked to pay yet again. Leaving my steer in tears on my birthday. But the experience left us deeply disappointed.

My third visit was for my best friend's birthday, and I was already hesitant given the previous experiences. Unfortunately, the staff were again unprofessional and rude. Meals took an excessive amount of time to arrive, and when they did, the waitress threw the dishes on the table without a word and walked away.

This place has great potential but fails miserably in execution. The staff consistently create a hostile environment, making you feel unwelcome. I know others who have shared similar sentiments. Given these repeated issues, I will not be returning or recommending this...

i went here with a friend Saturday night for dinner and drinks on a reccomendation of a good friend, and i would defintley return, set in Ringwood on Maroondah Highway, it is slipped in an industrial link of factories next to the park so it can be a little hard to find at first, there is limited parking there, but also near the train station as well and taxis are readily available at the rank.

Set in a warehouse, there are 2 entries at arrival, a public entry and a private entry, i made sure to book in advance due to COVID restrictions, we were greeted by a lovely security man who let us through the entrance and greeted by two reception staff, it is set out like afternoon garden party, with a huge main area with a big bar and to the side a selfie room, and the tables are made of palletts on wheels which is great for is they have functions to move easily.

The cocktails are fantastic i recommend the "Flower Power" and the food is Asian Fusion we had the Bao Buns in Pork and Chicken and Sweet Potatoe Fries.

Only open on Fridays and Saturdays, this a great venue and awesome for people in the Eastern Suburbs and South East that may not want to venue into the city to have the same experience, it does get busy so i would defintley book on Open Table or direct with the venue

Bad usher service. She could have told us that its trvia night and may not be suitable for family with young children, we won't have went in. But instead she told us to leave by 8pm and sat us next to drinking rowdy young adults with colourful language. Whilst it is a bar and drinking venue, she could have told us it was a trivia night. Besides, she sat us in the middle of the action where she could have sat us in the other section of the venue, which there were other customers there already and it was much quieter section without the loud music and rowdy adults. We ordered food at 640pm but the food didn't come til 8pm when we supposed to leave. Once came the portions are snack size and it couldn't even fill our 10 year boy. We ended up at the good old Golden arches. The food were not cheap either. The whole night was a debacle. She could have told us not children appropriate place and we wouldn't have wasted our time and money.

On the other if you are young and drinking..perfect for you!!
