Wattle park has it all - a chalet that has preserved its heritage, a fantastic circuit for hiking, kids' play areas, enough space for parking, decent bbq cooktops. However, a shed in the bbq area is badly needed ( the vintage tram carriage that is in place within the bbq area is crammed with tables making it difficult for multiple groups to take refuge while it's raining outside or when it's a hot day and visitors are willing to have a break from the unforgiving sun).

Took a beautiful walk after dinner, the oval was great for walking and exercising.

It's a spacious and lovely park that features historic buildings, picnic grounds and recreational facilities. It's an excellent location for a variety of activities with family and friends. The Chalet, which is situated next to the parking lot, is a popular venue for functions. There's also a playground for the kids next to the old trams which are sitting there. It's a great place to go during the day!

Regular visitor to this park. Played tennis and golf here and walks and jogs are challenging with the huge change in height over long walking/jogging tracks. The massive gums and small water area running through the park attractive to lots of bird life. Massive play ground for the kids with BBQ area close by with a few old trams around . The chalet is for hire for weddings and what not. A full sized cricket oval at the top of the hill. You can't fly remote control planes , helicopters or drones due to the intersecting boundaries of a couple of close-by emergency services (helicopters). You may think you are in the bush loving this parkland area. So just remember, during summer, there can be snakes, so stay away from them if you see them, they will do the...

Playground is not easy to find, but it is just near the Chalet. Large space for kids to run. Large number of tables and some BBQ facilities (love the tables inside the trams, yes there are 2 old trams here). Parking was also ok for us but then nothing was happening at the Chalet (could be different if a function was happening). The PLAYGROUND! 2 Swings, a fort and another structure, in addition to the two old trams for the kids to run from one to the other. The equipment is getting dated and could use some repair but its not unsafe by any means. However, I did find 2 syringes uncapped, one of which was under the table where we were eating in the picnic area with the kids. As a result I will not be...

I do love the sense of history here. It is the land and gardens belonging to a family who founded a large Dept Store in the city. There are some old buildings and a lovely reception place that looks very 20's or 30's. Some remnant fruit trees and an old ruined ornamental pond and fountain hintvat happier times when families would descend here for picnics in droves. Barry Humphries has even penned an ode to this place. You can explore the different paths, follow the creek. There is a golf course here which is popular. There is also a tree grown from a pine cone bought back from Gallipoli. Fantastic playground with stationary trams on site for kids to explore or to lay...
