Regular visitor to this park. Played tennis and golf here and walks and jogs are challenging with the huge change in height over long walking/jogging tracks. The massive gums and small water area running through the park attractive to lots of bird life. Massive play ground for the kids with BBQ area close by with a few old trams around . The chalet is for hire for weddings and what not. A full sized cricket oval at the top of the hill. You can't fly remote control planes , helicopters or drones due to the intersecting boundaries of a couple of close-by emergency services (helicopters). Parking was also ok for us but then nothing was happening at the Chalet (could be different if a function was happening). The PLAYGROUND! 2 Swings, a fort and another structure, in addition to the two old trams for the kids to run from one to the other. Read moreI do love the sense of history here. It is the land and gardens belonging to a family who founded a large Dept Store in the city. There are some old buildings and a lovely reception place that looks very 20's or 30's. Some remnant fruit trees and an old ruined ornamental pond and fountain hintvat happier times when families would descend here for picnics in droves. Barry Humphries has even penned an ode to this place. You can explore the different paths, follow the creek. There is a golf course here which is popular. There is also a tree grown from a pine cone bought back from Gallipoli. Fantastic playground with stationary trams on site for kids to explore or to lay...
