The best “FOSSILISED CHICKEN BIRIYANI” ever. When me and my mate had ordered two chicken biriyani last night for takeaway, we never expected such an amazing experience. The moment we started eating it, we had an instant pre-historic bone excavation experience in taking out the million year old chicken bones and pieces. The chicken was so dark in colour that we were sure that this cafe clearly stands for “old chicken matters” campaign. My mate who was paying tons of money for trying to reduce weight, got instant weight loss over night because of his several visits to the toilet. He said it was the best 15$ ever spent on weight loss. Myself who thought I was a normal human who visited the toilet mostly once or twice a day got superhuman skills overnight and it was 5-7 visits ever since having this wonderful. I “feel superhuman” now. I do not remember the last time when I had to sleep in the toilet like yesterday. Some people consider that the worlds most pleasurable experience is that of going to the toilet after holding it in for a while, well look no further than “burwood cafe” on a Thursday night to order chicken biriyani and be pleasured for life. I had particularly asked them if the food is fresh and they said “hell yeah” who would’ve guessed that with that they meant a completely fresh tummy for me. Some people after consuming poison go to a hospital to have their tummies cleaned. All this can be avoided, all you need is a 15$ takeaway chicken biriyani from “Burwood cafe” on a Thursday night. Unbelievably amazing they are. Look no further if you require an unbelievably amazing experience like me and my mate but if you want to eat something tasty and full your tummy like normal people, look...
Read moreNot worth it any more. They closed down around Christmas time in 2019 and have never been the same after reopening, The quality of curries and have gone downhill and even the biriyani is not good any more. The curries used to be 'good' before but now its just 'below average'. They had a good variety of curries before but now they only have a few. A good example is the chili chicken which they don't have anymore. They used to charge $12 for Goat biriyani when they opened but have since gradually increased and increased the price and now its a whopping $17 which is way too much considering that most Indian Restaurants charge under $15 for Goat Biriyani. The funny thing is that they used to provide good mutton pieces when selling it for $12 but now at $17 the pieces are mostly bone with little flesh and to make things worse they have taken off the goat curry option from their Non-veg combo restricting it only to chicken. Don't get me wrong the curries are not bad but I am not going back owing to the below average taste, pricing and a...
Read moreUnfortunately, I don't have photos but this place was good! A short walk from Deakin Res and Uni, this is a proper hidden gem. The vibes were there. Good service even at 8PM. We tried the Veg and Non-Veg Thalis with Rose Milk, Badam Milk and Coke. The Paneer and the Dal in the Veg thali was amazing. Loved having raw onions after what seems like an eternity. I had the Butter Chicken and the Lamb. The butter chicken was a miss as it was too sweet and I couldn't really taste any of the spices that are traditionally associated with a butter chicken, however, the lamb was extraordinary. It fell of the bone, was tender and beautifully spiced. Loved it! The rose milk wasn't sweet and I wouldn't recommend it again.
The restaurant also has a weird layout and not enough seating so you might have to wait to be seated, so that is something handy to keep in mind.
Overall though, very good and cheap food; Highly Recommend...
