EDIT: in response to the owners comments below. I post under my husband’s name. I was in yesterday morning with my 2 small children. We ordered 2 babycinos, a soy CHAI latte and a $6.50 muffin. We were served by a middle aged lady who was gruff from the start. The real rudeness started when we left. I made a mistake and loaded my kids and coffee into the pram and managed to spill the coffee on my one of my sons on the street outside. This was completely my fault and I don’t blame the cafe at all. HOWEVER, I literally had to strip my son down and pour water on him because he was burnt. At this point the owner came out, my son was now half naked and screaming. She looks at us, looks at the spilt coffees, tuts at the mess and rudely says “it’s a mess, move your pram so I can clean it”. Seriously? How about - are you ok? Can I give you a towel or water? Or even nothing. But not, move you’re in my way. Remember we were on the concrete path outside the shop. NOT even inside. It boggles my mind. Once I had helped my son and we had calmed down, I also realised from the smell that she had made me a latte not a chai. Again when I explained this, no oops sorry, no let me replace that. Just silence. Wow! What a horrible experience!! Again I wasn’t asking for replacements for the ones I spilt, just a bit of courtesy and perhaps kindness. We left - with no coffees - NEVER AGAIN!
Wow - SO RUDE at this cafe! Plus it’s expensive - I think this place only survives because it is the only coffee shop on the strip....
Read moreDecent coffee and selection of cakes, with some savoury options. Good service, though today I was there with a cousin who got a bit emotional as she described her problems to me. As I consoled her (in my cousin's first language - which isn't English) the female staff member appeared concerned about my cousin and while my cousin was talking to me, the staff member actually interrupted our conversation to ask my cousin if she was OK. While it was very nice of her to offer my cousin tissues and some water, we were right in the middle of a chat in which I was offering to help my cousin. I got the feeling that the staff member felt that I was the source of my cousin's tears, and we left quickly after that.
Edited to add: thanks for the response but, um, way to miss the point. There is no misinterpretation here; showing concern for a customer isn’t the issue - interrupting customers in the middle of their...
Read moreFriendly service is just the beginning! Run by local husband and wife Martin and Lauren this cafe is a little corner of warmth. Welcoming and caring folk who go out of their way to ensure everyone who visits is satisfied. Always cheery, both of the owners have been supporting the local community for the last few years after taking over the business in early 2020. Lauren is a passionate artist and the walls are adjourned with her works. The coffee is good, and there is a great selection of tasty treats. Dogs are welcomed (outside) and sometimes fed ham 😉. The sausage rolls are homemade and the best! On special occasions I have been treated to some traditional Chinese food that Lauren and Martin have been eating at lunch. Just amazing people and fantastic to have them in our local community....
