Yes! It’s the best in the west of Melbourne! Very clean, I mean, not much seaweeds if you will compare to werribee and altona. There’s not much seaweed smell if compared to other beaches mentioned above. You won’t see dead jellyfish in the shore which is very common in werribee beach and no small many many crabs which you can see in the shore of altona! I like williamstown for that reason, the sand is also so soft, the waves are beautiful enough even a non swimmer like me can enjoy peacefully and also you can walk in the water and it’s only upto your legs so i can always just seat in the water and enjoy the mild waves! It’s really beautiful. Picturesque, ill say altona won for that becaUse of the beautiful trees around the beach and ice cream store which sad to say williamstown doesn’t have. So if you plan to enjoy the water, go for williamstown but if you wanna just take beautiful photos, go to altona! I wont recommend werribee tho because it’s everything I wont like in the...
Read moreOne of the nicer beaches in the western suburbs of Melbourne where it is definitely better than Werribee South and is even better than Altona beach. Parking is expensive though where you need to either pay by phone or with coin at a maximum of $17 a day or $5 an hour. I remember Main Street years ago being paid and this beach having free spots but my advice is to park near Giffard Street and just walk the 700 metres to the beach. I hope the council don't charge people to park at Giffard Street in the future.
I'm pretty sure from memory you could park at Altona beach for free so if you find Altona beach as good as Williamstown, go to Altona instead but its worth the extra drive and the extra 700 metre walk for next time I head off to...
