An excellent collection of historic items ranging from local gold and copper mining developments, military clothing, firearms, medical equipment, antique furniture and kitchenware, early communication equipment, some vehicles and railway memorabilia. There’s some wonderful displays of early local photos, letters, leases, maps and records, fossilised dinosaur footprints, local copper and gold related minerals and Morgan mine models. Read moreWe stopped here whilst visiting some mine sites in the area on business. They hold some wonderful photos of Mount Morgan in the gold rush days along with some very interesting articles. I am presuming it is manned by volunteers so I am thankful to them for keeping the historical mining industry alive. The only downside was when asking them for directions they only seemed to know the main tourist spots and couldn’t help. Great to wander around reading the information boards that were a plenty and were truly fascinating! Certainly make the effort and time to come and check this place out for yourself!
