Visited this picnic grounds 6/11/21, the grounds are a bit soggy but the rain has made everything fresh and beautiful. The Cafe is stretched thin, kept getting orders wrong and prices are high even if the food is a reasonable and the coffee selection is good. The grounds made up for it with family friendly picnic areas, walking track, playgrounds on both sides of the lake, a flying fox near the Cafe and little jetties dotted around the lake, near the picnic tables. So you can try your luck fishing, although I didn't see anyone landing anything. Would suggest checking if you need a fishing licence. Lovely break, in the winery trip, the public loos need a good clean and service as there is an awful smell in the ladies. Even with a septic system I don't think it should smell that bad! Take toilet rolls and sanitiser or a cloth to dry your hands with after washing them, as they don't appear to keep the toilets well stocked. It was very busy...

This is a great little spot to visit. It's not a big lake, but has good facilites, is tidy and a really nice place to swim, fish, bush walk, goof off, have a picnic, or just chill. The only thing that spoiled it for us was the chap in the cafe, who looked at us at least twice while we were standing waiting to get coffees and snacks, but didn't acknowledge we were there. Even a "be with you shortly" would have done. As it was we left, and were returning to the car and he yelled at us, asking if we wanted anything. No thanks. Pity, everything else was great, including the old pumphouse that pumped the water to Orange. If you're in the vicinity, drop in, it's cool, mabe take a drink with you instead...

it's a very sparse, grassy rest area. i guess it has pretty decent play equipment. there's a bbq and some benches situated at appropriate lengths away from eachother. there is a nearby cafe which is pretty pricey, but has alright food options, i guess. there is a nice, big carpark which is never full. the dam is interesting enough on its own and definitely the highlight of my visit. i recommend going here.

nice place for a bbq and a bit of fishing, plenty of redfin in the lake. it has a beach either side and a couple of pontoons in the middle, you can use kayaks and the like on the lake but no powered boats.. it has a coffee shop which is a bit infrequent . public toilets and a cold water shower are available
