Lakeside Kiosk & Cafe — Restaurant in New South Wales

If there was a single positive I would have moved on, and not provided this feedback. We had booked a table for a group and after being seated no one came near us for a considerable amount of time, despite there only being 1 other party in the cafe. When our orders were finally taken we encountered the next set of issues. 1 diner was dairy free and when enquiring of there was any dairy free option on the menu we were told that they could take the feta out of a meal - sounds reasonable except the dish was in fact yoghurt based?!? Another of our diners wanted to share a meal and we placed our orders. A staff member then came out and loudly advised that sharing was against staff policy and was not permitted and that they had decided that one of the children’s meals was actually for that adult, which it was also advised was ‘strictly’ not permitted. We had 2 children which was why we ordered 2 children’s meals. The manner that this was conducted in was disgraceful and embarrassing not just for the adult it was directed at but for our entire party. In addition there was no offer for that adult to order something else and so they did not actually get a meal!! Further to that we never actually received the second children’s meal we ordered so a child also went without a meal! It was the most dreadful service, and experience for what was meant to be a family birthday lunch. I will add that the young waitress did the best job she could under the circumstances and this review is not a reflection on her. We will not be returning and would not recommend this...

The location is very nice lovely view and a nice relaxing spot with a myriad of seating choices including inside , outside tables under umbrella covers ( great for summer ) and big fat bean bags on the lawn enjoying the view . The service was average and again 🙄 there was no conversation with the servers regarding the location , my visit , the experience. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I think establishments are missing out here 🤔 Orange is a destination, hey I've moved here for that reason but I'm yet to find servers who are proactive in making your experience memorable. My nachos was tasty and well presented. I did ask for the Antipasto shared plate for 2 , could I have it for one . I was declined , I understand chefs stick to there menus and there creations and artistry. But sliced meats , cheese , bread and pickles on a plate is not the most challenging dish to prepare and as a single diner I was denied this experience . Disappointing. Overall because of the location and a walk after my lunch it was an enjoyable time. I would positively suggest that front of house team get encouraged and inspired to express there personalitys and energy with diners in a way where both parties and I'm sure the business would benefit from . The worst customer service ever! Run by 15-year-olds with loud screaming, head banging music blaring, so that customers can hardly hear themselves think when they are trying to put in an order. When asked to turn down the music the so called “manager” Laura comes out & starts insulting the customers. Stating “we will never be served again here because we upset the 15-year-old behind the counter” When we asked and paid for a gluten-free wrap, you get buzzed later that they now no longer have any healthy gluten-free, but can have a burger! Will be giving that cafe a wide birth until they get rid of that nasty piece of works manager, Laura and all the sensitive teary 15yr olds who get your order wrong most times. They all need to learn customer service. That is show the customer some respect and also stop advertising food that you cannot supply.
