Beautiful foreshore with lots of seating and bbq areas. A playground, toilet block, boat ramp and jetty are all contained in the same area along the foreshore. The Lake Macquarie marine rescues service is located between a small jetty and a car park that used to be for a floating restaurant (milano's) before it sunk. The lawn here is often full of weeds like bindiis so shoes are a great help. The lakes edge has nice clean sandy areas that are great for swimming but most people swim near the jetty at the northern end. The current can get rather strong here at times so its not a good area for inexperienced or weak swimmers. Not commercialised at all, this is a lakeside park where you can put the boat in, kids can run around, pop down to Blacksmiths fish & chip shop, get lunch and spend a few hours on the cool waterfront.
