Part of the Great North walk that stretches 250km from Newcastle to Sydney, the Yuelarbah walking track is one of the highlights of Glenrock State Conservation Area.
Commencing at the wheelchair accessible raised boardwalk, the scenic track leads you along Flaggy Creek, through wet gullies and coastal rainforest, and if that's not enough, you'll pass two waterfalls before finishing at Glenrock Beach.
About halfway along you’ll find Leichhardt’s lookout which offers excellent views over Glenrock Lagoon. Read moreAbsolutely loved the walking track, it was a total of 6.8km return and the track had a fair few stairs however it was a relatively easy walk. Since it's a conservation area, you are bound to spot a few large lizards however there's nothing to fear, they're usually lounging on a few logs.
Midway through the track you will reach a lookout which allows you to spot your final destination from afar (Burwood beach). At the very end of the trail you will reach Burwood beach, it is best to avoid the first stream of water you spot as it is most likely connected to sewage overflow, however the rest of the beach is vast, clean and beautiful.
