When we visited the botanical gardens in Orange, we were initially surprised by the abundance of evergreen trees instead of the traditional autumn colours we had expected. However, we quickly realized that the lush greenery was just as beautiful. One unexpected surprise was the number of fruit trees in the garden. We were delighted to see a variety of fruit trees throughout the gardens. It was a unique and enjoyable experience that we didn't expect to find in a botanical garden. The garden's dog-friendly policy was also a plus, and we enjoyed seeing other people walking their pets. The park was peaceful and serene, and we appreciated the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while. Overall, while the botanical gardens in Orange may not have had the traditional autumn colours we were expecting, we found the lush greenery and abundance of fruit trees to be a wonderful surprise. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for a peaceful place to take a walk, especially if you're a dog owner.

Another of the best places to see the spellbinding autumn colours in Orange is the Botanic Gardens, opened for Australia’s bicentenary in 1988. There’s a 50-50 divide between native and exotic plantings here, and around a third of all the specimens are labelled. In the gardens’ special collections are heritage roses and the plants of the Central Tablelands, and if you come around April or May the foliage takes on beguiling red and gold tones. Some sub-gardens keep in mind are the heritage orchard and two billabongs, between which stands the magnificent Federation Arch by sculptor Bert Flugelman (1923-2013).

Beautiful garden to have a nice walk. Kid and dog friendly. A must visit on autumn. Just look at the beautiful trees!! A nice and huge playground nearby, and a cute little cafe that provides outdoor seating as well. They made beautiful coffee and food. Too bad we were there after lunch so they have ran out of stuffs that we wanted to try. Would love to visit the garden when it's snowing!

Went to a wedding there today, car park suites about 250 spaces, outside on the lawns near the buildings is visually superb, lots of tall green trees and lawns while the town is brown and yellow. Huge vistas of views.

Everything is BYO, but the staff are accommodating and nothing is too much of a problem. It didn't rain, but the wet weather plan was to move it inside the main building, which could hold 100+.

If your looking for a civil ceremony in the central west, this has to be...
