We did the full tour including the night time documentary and light show. I have no interest in trains at all however, the documentary showed how the town was established, migrants and Australians who worked on the trains and made Peterborough their home. The history of those who established the town. Thete were many iriginal segments taken during the hey day period if Petererborough. Thoroughly entertaining. Tourguides were very knowledgeable and friendly. A must go to if you are in or near Peterborough S.A. The...

Do no miss seeing the Night Light n Sound Show, and 2hr daytime guided tours of Steamtown. Phil & Tamara were both enthusiastic, entertaining and knowledgeable. Their stories were wonderful. The kindness shown by you all will never be forgotten. Thank you...

Such a shame that the Visitors Centre and Steamtown is normally closed. We were just lucky that they were having a one- off guided tour, which was fantastic. So much history and all the steam trains and infrastructure still there. It really needs to be preserved and reopened.

Went on night time tour. Well worth it. Starts 8.30pm. Go into main shed see locos then walk to turning table and hop on passenger car. There you watch an amazing show for an hour.
