229 on Main Cafe — Restaurant in Peterborough

Tbe memorobilia is quite good, but all of it is in need of a good dusting and clean up. Historically valuable photos left in their glassless frames to turn up etc doesn't help them to last very much longer. The breakfast was pretty ordinary as well, with soft tomatoes plonked onto thin tost to become soggy within seconds and the cold, overdone eggs were not too good and for a supposed great cafe to look at me as though I had two heads when I asked if they had orange juice to have with our breakfast told me they have a long way to go to be thought of...

Great to see the old movie theatre being used. Yes its not the greatest Cafe in the world but its awesome that someone is using such a beautiful old building and helping preserve it. The coffee was ok but the meat pasties were great. The decor was all well picked and suited the age of the building including the 2 vehicles. Awesome place if you enjoy old memorabilia and old buildings like this...

Old picture theatre turned into a cafe. All the rows of seats removed. Big space with small tables and chairs scattered within it. Decorated with quite a bit of memorabilia to do with movies. Marilyn Monroe features a lot. Also an old vehicle or two. Because the floor is sloping people with wheelchairs or prams need to ensure their brakes...
