Railway Hotel/Motel — Restaurant in Peterborough

An hour and twenty minutes wait for 4 mains, pizza, sausages and two steaks is unacceptable, especially when trying to entertain a 3yo. The dining room was around 40% capacity at most, so not busy for a Thursday evening. The meals were quite acceptable and steaks cooked medium rare as requested. We spent one night here on our way to Broken Hill. We stayed in a room in the pub - no en-suite but shared bathroom facilities . The room was small but adequate with a split system air conditioner for added comfort. There was a door that opened onto the balcony. The bed was really comfortable and a good nights sleep was had. Mixed results with this place. Absolutely gorgeous old building, nicely decorated Terribly understaffed meaning it took time to find someone to take our lunch orders and etc. Hubby had chicken schnitzel looked great, nice portion, and tasted great, however our fish and chips and pasta dishes left a lot to desire.
