Peaceful, enchanting, grounding (in a tree heights kind of way), educational. Delightful. My husband and I stopped on a Syd to Mullum trip and this was one of our favs. It was a cold day but even that didn’t stop us from truly enjoying experiencing this slice of nature and what it had to offer. The team were super helpful in pointing out what to look out for, (my hubby just got a new massive lens and was up for the challenge of bird photography… very challenging) and the placards throughout had a wealth of info that kept us informed on really interesting facts. We met a few others on the walk with young kids as well that also seemed to be just as interested as we listened in on their caretakers waving stories on which ones were the fairy trees and the pixie trees. Loved seeing so many enjoying nature. Thanks and we look forward to visiting again. (Check out the awesome vinegars in the shop too… they...

I should preface this by saying that we did not do the Rainforest Boardwalk. My partner and I were after free things to do around Port Mac.

We stopped in here, but found that unless you pay for the forest walk there is not really anything here. The upper level is basically a gift shop with a cafe attached.

The lower level was meant to be the Birpai cultural information centre, but was only a small room with a few photos, as the rest was shut due to covid. The lights were off down there and the projector was on, but not running any movies. I honestly think it would be worth just blocking off the stairs to stop people going down there to waste their time until it is back up and running as normal.

Again, I'm sure the rainforest walk would make all the difference, and they so offer tours as well, but for us this was not what we expected and fairly...

This is a must see in Port Macquarie. The boardwalk here, which stretches for 1.3km through the litoral and sub tropical forest, takes you on a big loop through the most amazing woodland scenery. There are informative boards along the way to help your understanding of what you are looking at, and you’ll see at close hand the amazing plants and birds that call this magical place home. Take your time - it’s a lovely way to get far from the noise of every day life and feel the primeval presence of the forest as it used to be everywhere before ‘us lot’ came along and spoilt everything.

And when you finish, there’s an incredible cafe with great food to visit and a great gift shop with opportunities to take away a momento of your visit. You an also get easy access down a neighbouring road to the beautiful coastline and...

If your in the area this is a great spot for a walk through a rain forrest. The whole walk is on a boardwalk up in the forest canopy so you get a great view of the trees and animals. The boardwalk is wheel chair and pram friendly and perfect for all ages to walk around. Our group had a number of 2 year olds and they walked the whole way with out issue. There is a cafe that I would highly recommend, the food is great and the staff are very friendly. They surve breakfast and light lunch and the coffee was really nice. We turned up with a group of 20 and the staff were very happy to see us and not disgruntled to have to move tables around to accomodate us. I hope you all enjoy this place as much as our family and friend have.

A lovely rainforest in Port Macquarie. Great place to learn about nature and to escape the noise of the town. You get to walk through the rainforest at your own leisure, along raised paths and walkways. Informative signage along the way and lots of animals to spot. It's easy to find along the main coastal road in Port Macquarie and there's ample onsite parking. The little gift shop has lots crammed into it and prices are reasonable. The attached café has a decent range of food and it's a lovely setting within the rainforest. Staff are attentive and the food was great. Reasonable prices. Would have liked more vegan options, but there was enough to choose from for a quick snack. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
