Great spot. Great views. Great trail up kitty gorge. At serpentine falls end its a few hundred meter walk from carpark to falls on bitumen path. With nice rock and waterfalls. Kitty gorge trail follows the stream up towards jarradale end then back along same trail. Depending on which map you look at its between 11 and 14km loop there and back total. First bit following pipeline up the hill seems hardest to me due to rocks and steepness but there is steps built in which helps quite a bit. Then follows some car dirt tracks for a bit then along stream etc. Nice windy trails with great views of the stream and rapids and a lonesome derelict cottage in a valley. (Photo op) I prefered the trails along the stream myself. The maps say allow 5hrs for kitty gorge but i usually do it in about 3 hrs or so at brisk pace. Baldwins bluff has great views at top but its a bit of a steep climb all the way up due to steep and loose rock surface. The top area levels out though and have a great view back over the falls and valley but limited views towards the city due to trees etc. Its a 6km return hike but honestly feels as difficult as the kitty gorge trail just because of the long steep section. Picnic area is nice and well maintained and have a few unafraid kangaroos lounging around generally. May see a few on trails if you get out early enough but they are more skittish. Saw an echidna at top of bluff knoll too just beside trail in plain site which is pretty cool with his head down waiting for me to buzz off. Ha. He/she was a big one too! Only spotted it because of a nice asian family were up ahead and getting so excited to see it. A few wildflowers around too if you pick the right time. Have to pay to access the falls ($13 for a car etc) but due to it being so well maintained thats ok with me. If thats an issue get a parks pass it should help with costs a bitand encourage you to visit other places too. Havent really looked at jarrahdale end myself so cant comment on that or the small...

Located to the east of Serpentine just off the South Western Highway Serpentine National Park is easily accessed. There are a range of facilities, BBQs, picnic tables and a heap of car parks. An entry fee is charged or access is free using a National Park's pass. Kangaroos are often sighted on the lawn areas and throughout the park. Being a National Park no dogs or pets are allowed. The actual falls and pool are easily accessed by foot from the car park on a well maintained footpath. During the warmer months the pool at the base of the falls is a popular swimming spot. The best time to see the falls flowing is during the winter months and early spring. After prolonged rainfall or heavy falls the falls are impressive and attract an influx of visitors. The surrounding cliffs / wall of the falls are impressive and their colour is impressive. Over the years there have been numerous deaths and injuries caused by over adventurous park visitors ignoring warning signs and jumping from rock ledges above the falls into the pool below. This is also great spot for photographers and visitor with an abundance of wildflowers...

Visited on 21/04/25 at 11:00hrs and was told by staff that we could not enter as the place was at full capacity and had closed entry. We sought clarification as Google still reflected the venue as open, but the staff responded that on public holidays, visitors must arrive by 10:30hrs.

However, after checking the official website, there is no mention of this 10:30am cut-off time. What’s more confusing is that the staff mentioned if visitors arrive before 10:30hrs, they will still be allowed entry even if the venue is already at maximum capacity. This kind of inconsistent and unclear messaging is highly disappointing, especially after we had travelled two hours to get there.

It is imperative that clear, accurate, and up-to-date information is made available both online and at the venue to avoid such frustrating experiences. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves communication...

A beautiful and very nice spot. There are signs all over it that swimming is not recommended. It's because some idiots jumped in and had hurt themselves. The water is pure, clean and clear. You can see everything under your feet and it's perfectly safe if you aren't a total idiot. We had a very nice time at the fall, seeing many dragonflys, swimming, diving and laying in the sun on the flat rocks next to the fall. When the sun is shining, the water gets warmed over the rocks and you can shower under a warm waterfall. When you are eating at the parking lot, kangaroos come and sit next to you. (they are used to humans that give them some fruits or so, so they come when you are preparing your meal.) The fee to enter the park is 13$ like for every park in WA except 2 ones in the north. ;)

We came here in 2013. The entry fee for a car then was $12/-. It’s now $17 in 2024. Nothing much has changed. Water flow from the falls was only a sputter. One of the two trails was blocked, the Kitty trail? Not many signages along the way and some parts of the trail are not clear. Don’t walk this trail as you can’t loop back to the start point as the route is blocked. You have to head back to where you come from on the same route. I don’t see why there is a need to pay for entry fee and for that matter to increase the entry fee when much of Perth Hills with equally good views are free.
