Fantastic views of hunts creek water fall especially after heavy rainfall it performs at its best.. Shortest path to trek through the forest reserve is via the entry on Ferndale ave go down the wooden stair case then follow the fence line that borders the houses and you will find the trekking path into hunts creek... You will also hear the sound of the waterfall in action the closer you get the louder it becomes then turn the trail bend & you will see the top of the water fall... The path is quite muddy and it may become slippery when wet.. So be careful if you trek the bush forest after or during wet weather.. You will see the running stream of hunts creek gushing through & over the waterfall rocks ... To get to the bottom of the fall you need to go down a narrow muddy path to the left of the waterfall.. there are a few rocks & trees to go around or step over.. Once at the bottom.. the view of the waterfall is spectacular if it is in...

There are playgrounds nearby for kids to play on and is dog friendly with the exemption that they are kept on a leash and walked on specific trails.
A caution are the trails having loads of rocks with leaves and sticks on the ground everywhere, making the trails slippery to walk on.
Unfortunately they wasn’t any toilets or baublers to refill our bottles, but the hike itself didn’t take long, took about 1-2 hours on average.
Overall would recommend if the weather is right and if you feel like going on...

It was a warmish day and as we descended to Balaka Falls the cool air was refreshing. If you want to have a longer walk go west from the falls (downstream). If you go far enough you will end at Parramatta Lake but that is not what we did. You leave one section of the walk, cross a road to enter another part of the track. Photo opportunities along the way. As you explore and weave your way through the tall gums you will cross a number of bridges depending how far you go. Not hard to understand why this was Bushranger country in times gone...
