Firstly the good points; lovely view of the harbour skyline, dog friendly with dog bins and running water. Clean toilets; they do need a wall dryer or at least paper hand towels. The lawn is well looked after. It’s a medium size area. There is a walking trail but it is steep and very uneven. It’s not worth it because there are no interesting views.

The downside is limited parking that is on the side of the road. The side of the road is a very steep walk, not great for the elderly or those with mobility issues.

My advice is to drive 9 minutes further and go to Blues point reserve that has glorious views of Sydney harbour including the bridge and Opera house. It’s dog friendly. There is limited parking so it’s best to go early or...

A hidden gem!!

Spectacular views of the city. A circular walking trail rewards you with lots of vantage spots for photos. Lots of private little beaches. Hard to believe such a tranquil place exists so close to the CBD.

A superb playground for young children up to 8 years of age. Swings, slides, climbing equipment.

Perfect spot for a young child’s birthday.

However be careful if playing ball games. Lack of netting on fences means balls may roll away and into the water. I’ve experienced the heartbreak of a child who’s soccer ball has drifted off into the harbour 😢

Small waterfront park with good view and all the facilities you need for a picnic or bbq, although with limited capacity.

Only has two bbq grills and two tables, and the park gets quite crowded very early, so you will need to bring your own chairs and tables if you need them.

There's a 20-minute walking trail to the south part of the park, going through the woods. The walk is really pleasant, not too hard on your legs. In the middle you will be presented with lookout where you can see bits of harbour bridge and nice water view.

There's a playgroud in the...

It is located in Wolstonecraft near Waverton and North Sydney. There are several approaches to the island. I came from the Wolstonecraft side (and passing part of Waverton) and walked along the Brennan Park. I passed through many reserves and the streets have beautiful houses. I worked in Sydney for 17 years but this is my first time to visit the island as I am fighting a jet-lag. The reserves have nice old trees and of course full of birds, even bush turkeys and lizards, so please watch your steps. Many people walk their dogs there.

Better for the locals then those who live far away, unless you're a history buff. Scenic wise, it's a nice simple mini bushwalk though don't expect a lot of animal life, at least in daytime. There are some nice mini beaches when the tide is low but watch out for sharp oysters. Historically, Berry Island is highly significant to the Aboriginal community, and loads of info can be found on the local councils website.

A great spot for a picnic. Beautiful views of a small part of the Sydney harbour area and the city skyline. Berry Island Reserve is one of North Sydney's most delightful and significant areas of harbourside bushland. This small, almost circular, peninsula in Wollstonecraft is linked to the mainland by a wide grassed causeway. There are superb views of the harbour and the city from this picturesque reserve.
