Located at 172 Cabarita Road, Cabarita, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This beautiful park is on the banks of the Parramatta River and is truly beautiful. We have been a few times now and each time we came by Ferry from Circular Quay and it made for a wonderful day out each time. We had a really lovely walk making our way to the Marina where we had lunch at the kiosk. The views of the water was stunning. I noticed a swimming pool which looked lovely and I imagine would be quite popular. There is parking in the park but I don’t think it’s big enough to cope with the crowds which would be huge during the weekend and holidays. We came on a weekday so the park wasn’t crowded at all. There’s plenty of BBQ facilities around and seating and there’s a wonderful children’s playground area and it’s shaded. There’s a toilet block located near the playground. The beach is great, it’s the closest one to Parramatta, it’s approximately 200m long. Depending on the tide, you can walk along the beach, around the rocks to the kiosk. There’s also a conservatory situated between the playground and the swimming pool. It’s for artists to hold workshops etc. The swimming pool is great, it’s a wonderful size and the amenities are top notch. The Ferry wharf is at the bottom western end of the park There’s also a bus stop there. This is a wonderful park and I would definitely recommend a visit. Thumbs...
Read moreHow can you give one of nature's jewels a star rating. The explanation for not giving it a 5 is coming. This is a lovely spot, bit out of the way but worth making the journey for. Lazing under the trees and having million dollar views of the water is a joy to the soul. BUT, be warned, do not go here on dusk. Had a mad notion to buy some fish and chips locally and come down to the park for a romantic picnic. Parked the car, threw down the camp rug and on queue, the plague of mosquitoes descended on us. I swear on my mothers grave, this was a plague of biblical proportions. It was like the movie Piranha complete with the splashing and thrashing and the liberal spilling of blood. Mostly mine just because they seem to be more attracted to me than my partner. Slapping my leg blindly would kill up to 3 mosquitoes at a time. The fish and chips (which were inedible - covered in Mortlake Ocean Food review) went in the bin, we in the car and we sped off at pace that would have earned us 5 demerit points. I'm thinking Cabarita Park was built on an ancient mosquito burial site - visit after dark at...
Read moreOne of my favourite parks. But please. Do something about the large shelter area (The only shelter suitable for large groups!) It has been unmaintained for the last 10 years. It needs a good pressure .clean.and a paint. The rest of the park is beautiful. The last 2 times we visited the grass was very overgrown in front of the shelter area. Come on. The views here are beautiful. The park would also benefit from another set of restrooms particularly for the elderly who shouldn't have to treck across the park to go to the bathroom. *The new table huts near the waters edge are lovely. *Restrooms are very hit and miss. *Ample parking but must pay at any hour I believe. *Great for...
