Olympian Lookout offers one of the best views of Mount Solitary and the Jamison Valley. The track is signposted and next to 27 Olympian Parade, Leura. The track is just 300m (each way), but it’s all steps.

The lookout is on a large sandstone ledge – probably a rock overhang as it’s on the cliff edge. It looks directly onto Mount Solitary, which is perfectly framed by the surrounding landscapes. Mount Solitary is called ‘Korowal’ by the local Indigenous people, meaning "the strong one". The Mount is about five kilometres long. Eucalypt forests (and a small group of pine trees) grow on the top and semi-rainforests along its slopes.

The Jamison Valley is part of the Cox River System. One of its tributaries, can be seen to the east about threequarters of the way down the steps.

The developed ridgelines can be seen - Sublime Point Road to the east and Narrow Neck Road to the west. The back of the “Three sisters” at Echo Point can also be seen to the west.

Olympian Lookout is part of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. Note, the Prince Henry Cliff Walk is partly closed due...

Lovely lookout. There is a small carpark or street parking in the Olympian Parade. It starts with about 80 steps down to the look out. From here you can walk about 5 minutes to Elysian Rock lookout or turn the other way and walk through to the Tarpeian Rock lookout. Lots of new sandstone steps and stepping stones have been placed along this route. There are still a few places with uneven natural rock steps and one challenging high step up near the end of the walk out from Tarpeian Rock before a gentle grassy stroll back to streets that lead back to Olympian Parade where your car is probably parked. You can also walk about 1-2 km from Leura Railway Station to begin the walk to any of the three lookouts near here. Photos I've posted include the walk to Tarpeian...

In terms of effort and reward - I think this is the walk in Leura. The closest if one were to walk from Leura station and if you drove, plenty of on-street parking at the front. There are stairs which lead down - albeit at times uneven, but does the job. If you have kids or a bit older, do take your time and choose a sunny day.

Little mini hike resulting in great sweeping views of the Blue Mountains area. One of my favourite and go to spots on the weekend (after I've had a coffee in town). There are other walls to explore (and they will be for...

Went on a random Tuesday afternoon before sunset and it was such a breathtaking view. I did not expect to see how vast and high up we were in leura. It was a 5-10min drive from leura mall and I park on the side of the road and had a short walk down the stairs to reach the lookout. When we got there, we had the options to walk along the sides to go to other lookouts and they were equally beautiful. Stunning. For some of the residents around the area, this was their backyard view and that was crazy to believe.
