You know Hervey bay area must have 10 or more tourist caravan parks all in competition, lazy acres near Torquay beach is your average park. Nothing special maybe its a budget thing , maybe its an older population that stay here. The front desk managers are friendly, i stayed in a basic cabin its kinda like site office demountable but i found the ensuite demountable no 2 to be the hand me down demountable with a very old noisey cooling only wall aircond, it gets cold in the cabin at night this time of year no insulation maybe a split air with heat would be appropriate, theres under-counter old bar fridge maybe a normal fridge would be nice as the bar fridge froze my fruit, milk and yogurt, the smallest useless miniature tv more like a 17inch computer monitor that was so high above the kitchen wall it couldn’t be appreciated. Honestly how much does a 32inch tv from JBWifi cost these days? For the amount of 3 cabins in this park a bulk purchase of a ffalcon 32inch hd tv doesn’t hurt maybe $198 each. Anyway and the tv should of been mounted on the wall of the wall aircond so you swivel it and watch from the bedroom watching the NRL on the tv was impossible there is no comfort. The meals area the table is mismatched to the chairs the chairs Are uncomfortable and wobbly the table was like old round cafe table coloured lilac you find at a hospital cafe area. The ensuite could the faucet/tapware be any shorter lower to the sink it was like i had to wash one hand at a time with my fingers the tap was so low placed to the sink i used the kitchen sink instead to wash my hands and brush my teeth. How much does a bathroom sink ||/vanity from bunnings cost an estilo for $149 or even new tapware that has a high arching spout a esilo for $49. Other than the shower cubicle is small 80cm by 70cm so it is cumbersome. The bedroom the bed was comfy the floor could seen have better days from 1992 it could be better presented with the new click flooring system . The lights around the cabin are all hand-me downs and eco bulbs i suggest replace with LED lights $5 each as the slow warm up of time of old 2000s eco lights and fluro lights in this demountable scream construction site office. The window Venetians need to be replaced with roller blinds they are past the use-by dates, the hot water is hot than coolish than warmish. In summary the ensuite cabins felt like a construction site office very meh. Will i stay again maybe but i take the deluxe cabins or tourist villas avoid the ensuite cabins at all costs. Tourist park close to Torquay area of hervey bay, pool and bbq area closed...
Read moreWe were there for 2 weeks and Lazy Acres was by far the best value in Hervey Bay. It has access via a boom gate which was great for security.|||| We stayed in Cabin 7B, we only got 1 key which was a bit of a pain, when I asked for another key (we were 3 people coming and going) the lady in the office said no, we could leave our key at the office and then the next one had to come and pick it up, then leave it again when they went out etc, which was a bit of a bother for us so we made other plans.||||Laundry: washing machine and dryer both need 4 x $1 coins and there is no change machine, keep this in mind if you're going to want to do some washing.||||A word of warning about Cabin 7 is that 7A (the disabled accessible unit) and 7B (also called the carer's unit) is one cabin, the 2 areas area divided by a paper thin wall and normal door (not fire proof/sound proof) so you are very much at the mercy of your neighbour whether you will have a peaceful night or not. We could feel them walking (the cabin vibrated) and their footsteps thumped, we could hear them in the shower, washing their dishes and hear their TV when it was loud. Bearing this in mind we were very quiet, taking into consideration they could hear our every move too.||||Internal wall between the 2 bedrooms of Cabin 7B is also very thin and I could hear the bed creaking in the main bedroom every time the other occupant rolled over in bed. Maybe it needs a new bed.||||Cabin 7B was much better than in the photographs we saw online, which was a pleasant surprise. It has 3 plates/cups/cutlery and nice pots and pans. Small oven, gas cooktop. Nice big fridge. Good aircon and nice deck to sit on.||||The only bathroom/toilet is off the main bedroom, so whoever is sleeping in the single room needs to go through the main bedroom to use the toilet at night. Just something to keep in mind as it may not be suitable for everyone. ||||The play area is non-existent with tape cordoning it off. I presume they are going to redo it.||||I would stay there again, but not in Cabin 7 due to the close proximity to the neighbours, but Cabin 7 is ideal for a larger family due to the interconnectedness.||||Lovely permanent residents - most of them are happy to stop and chat, I got to know one of them quite well over our stay and...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to stay other than a hotel on our travel to Australia, we looked online and came across this place that had good reviews. We wanted to do our own shopping and booking and travelling around. When we came into the office, the lady at the desk said it would be better to look at another cottage other than the one booked online as it had two bedrooms and was spacious for two people. So we looked at the one she suggested and agreed for another $10.00 extra per night. The place was clean and bright had all that one would want on a travel . TV, laundry , full kitchen living room deck with table and chairs and a pool near the entrance next to the office. One thing that really disappointed us that was not mentioned is although there is FREE WI-FI it is limited amount for the day per person , do just bear that in mind. We had no DATA with our phone travel plan as we were from Canada. We relied on wifi for all our booking and locating places for restaurants outdoor adventure booking. We had a rental car so it was easy to travel to the beach and others places. The bats amazed me during the evenings as they flew in thousands and loud screeching sounds. We enjoyed the Australian beers at the cottage. All in all a very convenient and quiet...
