I'm not usually one for museums, but this one is fabulous. The local stories are set individually in sections across three storeys of the amazing old flour mill. Just to wander through the building itself is marvellous.
Story settings on aboriginal, bushranger, world war, shearing, farming, craft work, old fire engines & carts, family history themes, etc. And the cricket bat exhibit had us giggling!
$5 per concession holder & it took us a very casual hour as we read the stories that interested either of us. For the bobbin lace enthusiast, there is an extensive display both on view & in large, pull out display drawers.

One of the true highlights of our visit was this Museum. It is run by volunteers, all clearly devoted to the upkeep of the Museum and the telling of the stories that count. Amazingly, there is no interactive displays! Which is wonderful. They are genuine true museum pieces with written stories to share the early days, the hardships and the delights of a small early settler country town. The volunteers Fi and Dav were amazing , my husband is in a wheelchair and nothing was a bother to either of them .They made us feel so comfortable being there learning so much history , even helping my husband on and off their little lift . This is a three floor museum and this is the first time my husband has ever been able to enjoy such a journey such as this .
