I'm not usually one for museums, but this one is fabulous. The local stories are set individually in sections across three storeys of the amazing old flour mill. Just to wander through the building itself is marvellous.

Story settings on aboriginal, bushranger, world war, shearing, farming, craft work, old fire engines & carts, family history themes, etc. And the cricket bat exhibit had us giggling!

$5 per concession holder & it took us a very casual hour as we read the stories that interested either of us. For the bobbin lace enthusiast, there is an extensive display both on view & in large, pull out display drawers.

This museum really is a credit to all the people involved - likely volunteers. So we hope younger locals value their...

We recently visited Uralla for a short break, partly to check out family and local history and partly to visit a township I came to some 45 years back. One of the true highlights of our visit was this Museum. It is run by volunteers, all clearly devoted to the upkeep of the Museum and the telling of the stories that count. Amazingly, there is no interactive displays! Which is wonderful. They are genuine true museum pieces with written stories to share the early days, the hardships and the delights of a small early settler country town. Some seriously fine art works, historical pieces, old vehicles railway memorabilia and the building itself. It is one of the best local museums you...

What a wonderful place to visit. The volunteers Fi and Dav were amazing , my husband is in a wheelchair and nothing was a bother to either of them .They made us feel so comfortable being there learning so much history , even helping my husband on and off their little lift . This is a three floor museum and this is the first time my husband has ever been able to enjoy such a journey such as this . Thank you so much Uralla for having put such beautiful people in our path ❤️. And such a...

Uralla is full of surprises. Well worth a stop. Great history of the local area and the people within. Additional information about Captain Thunderbolt. Nicely put together over 2 floors. The collection of artwork hanging on the wall was wonderful. Country towns have so much to offer by way of history. Bushranges, Gold rush, sporting legends, families of note.

Great volunteers, wonderful display of the life and death of Captain Thunderbolt (Fred Ward). Other displays were the history of the mill and gold rush. The museum was on three floors, and it was made easier by a chair list between floors. very interesting place to visit. Allow plenty of time so much to see.Well done to all the volunteers who do a great job
