A Jolly Good Bite at 53 on Bridge – Uralla’s Unsung Gem
Tucked just across the road from the time-bending curiosities of Jolly Good Antiques lies a dining delight that’s every bit as warm, unexpected, and nourishing as a handwritten letter from a dear friend. 53 on Bridge isn’t your typical takeaway—it’s a haven of hospitality, a little oasis where the humble veggie burger and zucchini slice rise to the level of heartfelt art.
Let’s begin with the vegie burger: a tower of colour and crunch, bursting with fresh slaw, crisp lettuce, and just the right hint of melty cheese peeking through a golden bun. It’s the kind of burger that doesn’t need to shout—it simply smiles and invites you in for a flavourful embrace. Paired with golden crinkle-cut chips that taste like childhood joy, it’s the sort of meal that makes you pause and sigh, “Yes, this is exactly what I needed.”
And then, the zucchini slice—a rustic masterpiece, golden on top with layers of tender vegetables and a flavour so rich you’d swear Nonna had something to do with it. Nestled beside a vibrant salad of baby spinach, crunchy carrot, beetroot ribbons, and a snowfall of crumbled feta, it’s both hearty and elegant, like a country ballad played on a baby grand.
But what truly sets 53 on Bridge apart is the dining experience itself. This is not just a quick bite; this is a proper sit-down experience. The space is welcoming and well-appointed, with a warmth that encourages you to stay awhile. There’s no sterile takeaway feel here—only the comfort of a thoughtfully curated café where locals linger, and every dish feels made with love.
Whether you’ve just wandered out of a treasure trove of antiques or are simply in search of a good meal made great, 53 on Bridge is where your tastebuds will thank you—and your heart just might as well.
Highly recommended. Five stars of satisfaction and a tip of the top hat...
Read moreI don't like to write negative reviews but sometimes I'm so blown away that i write one. The grilled chicken burger i had was really nice. The coffee was so hot i burnt my tongue and lips first sip. The reason for the 2 stars was the lady that served me. So rude and sour! I asked if the hawaiian chicken burger was grilled chicken or a schnitzel as i felt like grilled chicken. She said it wasn't grilled, there was one other chicken burger that was grilled. I asked if i could get the hawaiian chicken burger but with grilled chicken and she said no. Couldn't believe it. So i said ok, well, can i get the grilled chicken burger and add pineapple. She said yes. When it was ready she called my name and left it on the counter and walked away. So i went and picked it up and left. I was the only person in there at this stage. She was just so rude and sour and yeh she needs to learn some customer service skills. Never...
