Wife and I turned up at the meeting point and were the only 2 booked for the Wellington descent. Since it does say the tour will only run if there are 4 as a minimum I'd like to thank management for not cancelling. It's a great drive up to the summit and the guys were full of information. Luckily we had picked one of the best days of the year and the views were stunning. We could see I believe for 100 kms in almost every direction. Whilst it was cooler at the summit, you are given gloves that are totally necessary and they di have jackets. Advice is to dress in layers. The decent is quite a thrill ride but it never felt unsafe. There are a couple of stopping off points to get the necessary photos. Once at tree line the views are obviously more limited but the thrill is just as intense. At one point you are offered the option to go off road and on a trail. We remained on the road. The gradients become less as you approach town and perhaps for the first time you actually have to pedal rather than freewheel. There is another stop at the oldest brewery (just to look) and then through a little park. You get to see suburbs of Hobart that many will miss. There is a bit getting through part of Hobart's traffic but this was done very efficiently. What it would be like with 10 riders I'm not sure! The tour finishes off going via a couple of historical places so in essence it is more than a ride down a mountain, you get to learn a little too. The guys that ran it were very friendly and again we appreciated the trip being run...
