I'm not a picture taker when i visit places. I love to soak up whats around me, and that's where this place excels. Walk in and feel the place, put yourself there, wind your mental clock to a time when others spent their confinement there and let your imagination fill the rest. Shackle yourself, not for a photo, to feel what they felt. Feel the cold walls and floors. Sit on the benchs. Touch the punishment rack with your eyes closed. Feel a little shock about the tale of the Salvation Army women incarcerated there. Then walk out and tell me you won't remember it. Read moreGreat place to go for a visit, but nothing more. Aussie history at its best on display here at Wentworth Goal. Lots to see & read on its past, when walking through each room & goal cell. A lot bigger then first seeing it on the outside. Well kept & clean. We went on a weekday so had no wait time, not sure how the weekend would be as in waiting time to get in. Reasonably price for entry at $8.00 for adults, Kids not sure of the price. A great place for the kids see & touch in person & understand their Australian history of years past. There is no food shop there only a drink fridge. Has a great...

The complex has been really well maintained over the years so it is possible to get a good handle on what conditions must have been like. The displays are interesting and grounds are worthwhile. The people that run the gaol are good old 'outback' sorts who are friendly and like a good yarn. And I think it was only 6 or 7 dollars per adult entry which is a steel. If you're passing this way, and love a good history lesson, you'd be crazy not to spend an hour...
