I’ve never seen a grander sunset than a sunset on Woonona Beach. Whether from the sand, the rocks, or the rock pool, this beach is pure bliss to look at. I can’t even say much about the surf, because the rock pool here is so enticing and lovely, the beach held nearly no attraction comparatively. The rock pool is a monster of a thing, at least 2 metres deep in the deep end and large enough to do some proper laps. Yet, even with 5-6 people doing laps, the kiddos still had plenty of room to play around. Pristinely placed over the rocks, with a change room and lookout 5 meters from the pool; The sand below held no comparable draw. Don’t get me wrong. The beach itself is absolutely gorgeous too, I’m just a rock pool fiend. And when the rock pool is this nice and still has a view of Mount Kiera. Well, I’m a sucker for...

A beautiful and unspoiled beach with fascinating rock pools. The adjacent playground has just had a big face-lift and now has a flying fox! The only bummer is the absence of a shade cloth. Be careful to keep between the flags when swimming...the surf can be very rough and unpredictable and the rips extremely dangerous. The local surf lifesavers are very friendly and do a brilliant job. Could happily spend 7 or...

Great beach which offers plenty of activities for beach goers. Be careful when swimming there if you aren't familiar with the beach because the rips and currents can be very strong. Patrolled daily during the lifeguard season so be sure to swim between the flags. Playground and cafe nearby with plenty of parking and outdoor showers to rinse off the sand after a day at the beach. Great spot for surfing at...

Our favourite beach in Wollongong, Woonona is a fabulous spot to walk with your dogs as well as to swim. It's not crowded, is in close proximity to good cafes, has water refilling stations along the path, has several public toilets available nearby, playgrounds and more. Just a great spot to go for a walk on a sunny Sunday morning!!

Exceptional beach for kids. There is a play area with lots of equipment for kids, a kiosk for food and toilets. The beach itself was pretty and there was a small shallow area for little swimmers who don’t like big waves. There is a rock pool which is at a walking distance and has changing rooms and toilets too.
