One of my absolute favorite beaches in the south west, so much to offer so many people. Crystal clear water that makes you feel alive!
There are multiple access points to the beach, all via stairs. The car park at the Yallingup Beach Road provides the main beach access and also has toilets, showers and a children’s playground. This section of the beach is the most sheltered for swimming with a ‘lagoon’ type area away from strong swell and current. It is also near a reef, and this area is where surfers paddle out to the breaks further out.
Dawson Drive provides two more access points. The first is a small parking area only, which can be overcrowded during the summer school holidays. This area of the beach can also have high and dangerous swell so is only suitable for strong swimmers that are confident in the surf. Surf life savers patrol this area (swim between the flags). At the end of Dawson Drive is another car park which provides access to a couple more surfs breaks. You can also take a walk along a bush track from here, which provides higher vista views of the beach (and forms part of the Cape to Cape). Wear solid footwear as we saw multiple snakes on this path (they slithered away no problem).
The length of Yallingup Beach itself provides a great long stretch of beach for a walk too.
This is not a dog beach.

Read moreWith white sand and crystal clear waters, Yallingup is the home of some of WA’s most epic offshore waves. With also a sheltered lagoon, perfect for safe swimming - the iconic Yallingup Beach has it all. An amazing location for stunning sunsets and a prominent place for surfers.
The Korrianne Gnwirri statue on the rocky point represents a song line of the Wadandi people of the Yallingup area.
Yallingup Beach is also a popular place for a family holiday with a camp ground across the road. Coffee vans also frequent the beach carpark for those in need of a brew. Dogs are only welcome on the beach north of the Dawson Drive access path.
While we visited, the Yallingup Shredfest Surfing Competition was running. Yallingup Boardriders along with City of Busselton, Rusty, Plico and Sunsmart, invited Grommets (Under 18s to Under 12s) to shred some waves. As conservators of Cape Naturaliste's coastline, for each competitor, North Native Hardwoods will plant 10 trees. Prizes include a new surfboard as well as cash...
Read moreScenic beachline. Pretty busy and popular with mainly younger generation surfers, good on them. Park at the top is grassy with partial views over the beach from some small lookout points. More fun and better views from the hill point overlooking the beach, with a small carpark. It’s where the ‘Korriane Back Home’ sculpture is located. Recommend turning up late afternoon, with a beverage and/or snacks, to watch a beautiful sunset over the ocean. Rug up as...
