I was really looking forward to a nice takeaway coffee… and what I got was not a nice experience.
Waiting times: Approx 8-10 min wait at front kiosk before presence was even acknowledged. Another 3-5 ish before I was served. Didn’t have to wait long for order.
Service: Middle age Woman (assuming owner / manager) taking order seemed annoyed I was even daring to try order take away coffee. While waiting for coffee, the same woman was openly telling off a younger female staff member for seating people who only want coffee “Ask people what they want before they sit down/ if they want coffee, take away openly. We don’t have time for service”.
1 - I understand you might have been short on staff, but there is no need to have that convo with your staff member in front of your patrons. Have a quiet word out of ear shot. While the words, not terrible, it was your tone of voice that was quite harsh. It is really unprofessional for patrons to hear that and frankly made me feel sorry for the staff member who was been berated. Aspire to do better.
2 - “we don’t have time for service” - shows a lack of care for your patrons. Why would I want to be somewhere that doesn’t have “time” for me as a patron. Why would I recommend to anyone to go to your venue if you openly state you don’t have time for service?
E - if you don’t have time for coffee… have a big sign at the front “dine in for food service only” “coffee - takeaway”. Or if you don’t have time for coffee only… don’t offer it! Close the front kiosk and just do your lunch service.
Actual drink: Disappointment in a cup - warm milk with slight coffee essence. Had to...
Read moreWhile showing my interstate guests what our beautiful South West has to offer we stopped here to grab a coffee and admire the views.
The disgusting service we received from this coffee shop was embarrassing! 3 coffees ordered, one with oat milk due to lactose intolerance, when our customer name was called only two coffees were sitting on the bench for collection, nothing to indicate the 3rd coffee was still coming nor which cup contained the oat milk.
When the question was asked to the young person serving the answer yelled from the barista was an abrupt “you got what you ordered and it’s coming”.
Upon receiving the 3rd beverage It was a matter of passing the cups around and sipping to guess who’s cup held what..
Living in and around the South West for the last 15 years I was shocked at the extent of the rudeness, it’s not what we are known for and was in no way warranted. It really was just a simple question.
The shop was not busy at the time, but we clearly did take their attention away from the local lady whom they were trying to convince to get a babysitter for the night to...
Read moreA basic service process analysis identified 3 fail points for this restaurant.
Firstly, We went in with a group of 8 which means we were automatically allocated a Fixed menu for groups of over 8 people. We weren’t aware of this going in (fail point 1).
This was so it was easier on the service. Prioritising the service over the customer experience (fail point 2).
We were given special treatment because we weren’t aware of the fixed menu, great. Food must be great and extremely high quality if they are worried about service difficulty? Nope. $45 dollars for a tiny piece of snapper and absolutely nothing else. Owner justified (hid behind staff) the high price because it’s ‘locally caught’. Whitewashing and making excuses when given feedback (fail point 3).
You’re welcome for the free...
