I'm a local for over 30 years, have seen alot of change at the lagoon.

But still believe it to be one of the best beaches in W.A particularly for kids in the naturaly protected reef pools.

Parking can be very difficult, particularly on weekends so would strongly visit before 10am or after 2pm if your travelling up here.

The nearby coffee shop is also very busy and can be hit and miss in terms of quality also abit pricey but that is to be expected when there's no competition. Suggest visiting the local shopping centre /fastfoods and have a BBQ/picnic at one of the many park/picnic spots.

This beach is protected by volunteer lifesavers in the main lagoon only, there are rips outside the flags to the north of the lagoon so be aware.

Strongly suggest a beach umbrella or Sun Tent and Thongs, seen countless people burn their...

Gorgeous beach surrounded by beautiful green dunes and a lovely shallow lagoon. Ideal for young kids, ours LOVED it!

TIP: check on Google first and go when it’s LOW tide, so the lagoon has no waves and is shallow for the kids. When we left, the high tide was coming in and the lagoon was completely gone under powerful waves.

ACCESS: please note that there are 2 sides to the lagoon! We went to the left hand side which is only accessible by a long flight of metal stairs. This can be tricky with babies or toddlers, if you have lots to carry. But it was much quieter as a result.

FOOD: the café is located right in front of the beach, and although not cheap, well worth it! The food was absolutely delicious, and it felt bliss to eat it on the beach while the...

I'm thrilled to share my family's wonderful experience at Yanchep Lagoon! My two granddaughters (12 and 2) and grandson (1) embarked on a lovely walk from my son's house to the lagoon, and they absolutely loved it! The scenery was stunning, and what impressed us most was the peacefulness of the area - it wasn't crowded, making it perfect for families with little ones. The facilities were top-notch, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. The lookout point was a highlight, offering breathtaking views that were truly memorable. We'll definitely be returning to this hidden gem, Yanchep Lagoon, which has earned its place as a favorite spot for our family. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and beautiful spot to enjoy...

Yanchep Lagoon is a beautiful beach surrounded by a rocky outercrop and is a great spot to watch the sunset over the ocean. The water is clear which is perfect for snorkeling. However, although the beach has an active life guard tower with a supervised flag area, the current is strong with dumping waves, submerged rocks and doesn't have a shark net. Don't let kids swim unsupervised. The wind can also be very strong, sending sand particles flying towards you. Very close to the beach are public toilets and changing facilities by the Yanchep S.L.S.C building. However, when I went, these were not very clean and had a foul odour. On the main road, there is free parking as well as a cafe. Dogs, vehicles, fishing and camping are not allowed.
