This wetlands nature walk is truly the best kept secret in yea!! Overall the whole walk would take roughly 25-35 minutes round trip it is a flat easy walk suited for someone that has basic fitness levels it's an easy walk! Easy but beautiful informitive and has a bit of differnt structures to it including the yea River which is the star of the walk twisting and turning its way through the exentisive greenery with a flexi wire bridge welcoming into the bushland continuing on with board walks a few wooden bridges, vewing platforms and animal lookout spots. Surrounded by lovely lush nature huge fantastic trees and lots of information provided on the history and facts of the local plants and animals! There are a number of seating options throughout the walk as well as bbq facilities at the information centre end of the walk! At the car park end there are plenty of car spots and beutiful family pick-Nick ereas all covered. We stopped here while returning back to Melbourne though didn't go on a walk around the reserve as we were tired. But we went to Y Water Discovery Centre from over the hanging bridge which is a beautiful location for photography. Plenty of books, gifts to purchase related to nature. The administrating ladies are very helpful and friendly. Decent walk around the wetland with plenty of birds and a chance to see platypus on the Yea River. Gumboots are essential if visit in wet weather.
