It’s all about expectations. The staff was very upfront and explained what were displayed in the museum - NO famous paintings that you can see anywhere in the big museums in the world. Instead, 12 paintings from when he was 17-18 years old which I personally loved and was mesmerised by the Sunflower, 1907. I cannot stop looking at it and feel that aloneness and melancholy. On the 1st floor, it’s a video exhibition with interviews with art historian, psychologist, museum curators, etc. Also the major archive of the interview of a US art historian’s with Egon Schiele’s sisters and sister-in-law to get a more personal perspective. If you want to see Schiele's masterpieces, visit Albertina and use your 5 Euros and 10 minutes of time for anything more enriching, e.g., drink a glass of cold beer in one of...
